Based on the hail mary in the ISU game, I'd say that deep passing isn't going to be a big part of this offense any time soon....

Makes some sense. When it looked like Brown was open against MN and Cade sailed it on him, they showed Cade screaming about something. Wonder if even though Brown was open, he ran the route incorrectly which is why Cade missed him so badly.
Would like to see Brown mixed in in any way that gets the ball in his hands quickly as he is a playmaker.
You really want to believe that, but with respect to the passing game over the past 4 years, the Iowa staff hasn't really earned the benefit of the doubt yet.

Synopsis...he's having issues running the correct routes (requires reads in Lesters offense). Lester said he's coming along and wants to include him more.

People forget that this is a brand new system with all new reads and routes based of those reads. If the coach can't trust you to run the right route, it is going to limit your time on the field.
With that said, Brown can be a big time difference maker when on the field athletically so here is to hoping he gets it figured out and we get him on the field more.

He was catching balls (and dropping them) with his body as a college WR. He just wasn't that good.
What do you think Iowa would do to the competition UAB faces? Yes, even their passing game would improve dramatically.

They also scored 38 points against Troy. They didn't need to be able to throw the ball. I understand the passing attack is awful - just don't try to compare the competition. Iowa could have thrown the ball more against Troy if it chose to do so.
Sounds like every Iowa WR of recency outside of Gill. Iowa has not had a legit WR coach in quite some time.
Vanderzee had 14 receptions this year, 5 of which came against Illinois state, I wouldn't base anything on this, and it doesn't argue the point that Iowa needs a legit WR coach.

He only played in 6 games. He displayed excellent potential for the future.
Actually it was the eighth game he was injured in. The point remains, he is an excellent prospect.
Again, the comment was based on receivers catch the ball with their bodies, it is a common feature of Iowa WRs.
Some people consider winnning to be even more important.
Thank goodness Iowa didn’t play ULM, powerhouse UAB could only muster 167 passing yards. Iowa May have ended up with negative yards against ULM.
If it was simply about winning, Brian Ferentz would still be the offensive coordinator.
