Kaleb Johnson is good, Ashton Jeanty is better

In all fairness, we will know much more about Kaleb 2-3 weeks from now.
Well we already know what Kaleb can do if he has really good blocking and holes to run through. His best game this year was against the Goofers who have an experienced and good DLine and Lbkrs. If Kaleb gets shutdown it will be because there arent any holds and room to run it.

I think Iowa will play objectively better defenses than Boise State. But if Kaleb continues doing what he does, he'll be first team all B1G, and that's good enough for me.

Play somebody with a good defense then talk
He already played against Oregon and WSU, I’m not sure he would be that intimidated by Minnesota. I get it he is going to over the course of the season eventually have some easier opponents but it’s very debatable to say he’s just putting up these numbers so far because he’s just been facing bad defenses.

I'm pointing these out to show that Boise has both huge financial resources (Albertsons sponsors the stadium) and recreational/fun advantages over Iowa City.

There is a common refrain from Iowa fans, "why can't we recruit like..." But Iowa City isn't anything special. There just isn't much to do there beyond drinking.

It’s less about the towns/cities and more about the resources that u of Iowa has being a consistent winner, brand in the most lucrative conference in the country. That is probably why people were wondering.

BTW, I live half the time in Boise and half in Texas. I really like Boise, especially the dry climate, and MTB trails.

Boise is home to Albertsons grocery and JR Simplot (plant breeder responsible for the potato used for McDonald's French fries). Also, very cool town with beautiful, clean rivers, skiing 45 minutes away and a great music scene.
Sounds like paradise…

Jeanty already ran wild against Oregon too, so he's been great from the start against better competition than Kaleb thus far. But going forward they don't play anyone too great while Kaleb will get his chance against the big boys. They are certainly the two all-American RBs through September.
Where do posters come up with this crap? ISU's defense ranked 11th, Minnesota's defense is a top 5 defense in the country. Oregon is barely a top 20 defense. I mean come on, use some stats before making these kind of statements. Jeanty is probably a better back, but the defense comparison is laughable.

Freudian slip there in the last sentence?😉

How can you rank the defenses they will face...when those defenses hadn't yet played a down (data is from August 23). Five weeks in those rankings are already meaningless.

Don't ask me, ask the guy who made it. Strictly going by pre-season rankings, that's pretty rough. I'd still be willing to bet we're in the top 20 though.

I also made the same argument you're making, but for for SOS, and I got raked over the coals for it.
