These two OL in addition to Wirfs would give the Hawks a heck of an O-line class. Hope they pull the trigger for the Hawks. I see Dykstra as guard.

Agree. I think both want to get more offers, so they can have more options.

I read that both of these young men grew up Hawk fans. But then so did Ross P. who opted for bama. I feel pretty good about landing both of them! Another strong season might be the trick to get their commits.

Kallenberger also got an offer from Missouri recently. Kirk needs to keep these guys in state. I can understand why highly rated offensive lineman go other places than Iowa, but I find it interesting that recruits who grew up as fans wouldn't jump on an offer (especially offensive lineman and coming off of a 12-0 regular season). Does anyone know if they are probably going ti Iowa but just want to test the waters, or do they want to go somewhere else?

Usually when Iowa has an OL roster consisting of 80% or more Iowa HS guys on it it has spelled trouble at a few spots along the OL as well as with depth but these last two Iowa HS classes have had some very intriguing OL prospects and when that happens history shows some good years are in store for Iowa Football. Would love to get both these kids. Lock the border down Kirk.

And the U is in a shithole

They still put players in the NFL, It's Miami not Iowa City, and it's a decision for an 18 year old kid. I can find reasons he would go to Miami over Iowa. It's not like it's a slam dunk because they aren't winning titles anymore.

Yeah, but they don't even win games anymore. I expect it to change at some point in the future with Richt, but right now, it's a terrible program

Terrible compared to what it used to be, sure, but it's still a program that has had at least 6 wins every year except 1 (when they had 5 wins) since 2003. They're a middle of the pack power 5 program now, which isn't bad, pretty much where Iowa would be classified over the last 10 years.

Define "they don't win games anymore".

Over the last 5 years they have to be about the same as us and once again it's South Beach or Iowa City. 18 year old kids may find appeal in Miami.

Last 10 seasons, only 3 seasons with > 7 wins (highest total being 9). They're not at all what they used to be.

And they play in front of crowds of 20 people, yay

So just to be clear you can't think of 1 reason why an 18 year old kid from Iowa would want to go to Miami over Iowa City?

Girls in Miami are half-dressed much of the time, girls in Iowa are in coats much of the time!
Touchdown, Miami.
Mom and Dad are a few hours away and can see every game!
Touchdown, Iowa.

Miami hasn't recruited much in Iowa. I think Todd Sievers and Matt Pipho might be the last two Iowa high schoolers to play there. Pipho did not have an offer from Iowa. Not sure about Sievers...Blake Larson was offered and took a visit there with Illinois native, Matt Roth..Most prolly remember the "hot tub" story from their visit to the "U"..

I didn't write that or anything along those lines. I said I wasn't worried. Two completely different statements
