Moulton and Patterson had 21 carries for 170…yet we threw the ball 3 times on 3rd and 2 and also punted the ball twice on 4th and 2 or less on their side of the field.

I grew up in Iowa City. Have been going to games for 55 years. Season tickets for 35 years. I can’t renew with this staff. Never thought I would say that.
Mizzou was BEGGING us to take this win from them. Multiple incompletions on their last possession gifting us free timeouts. Then not going for it on 4th and 1. Then the shanked punt. You actually almost have to be TRYING to lose the game in that scenario. We needed what, maybe 15-20 yards for Drew to have at least a puncher's chance at a tying FG? Shades of the Minnesota ending last year.
I disagree. He did a ton more than any qb we have had in the last 5 years. Needs more experience and reps.

We stood around for 15 seconds then rushed the snap for some reason. At least try to draw them off for a bit first. Give them a hard count and I bet they jump.

The offensive playcalling in the 2nd half was idiotic, and Sullivan basically removed all doubt that he should not be the starter in 2025.
Sullivan certainly has the physical tools, just doesn't have it above the shoulders as a football player/quarterback in general. He just doesn't look confident out there and looks like he has no interest in taking charge. Kirk needs a QB that takes charge.......Drew Tate, Ricky Stanzi etc. At this point, the QB competition should be wide open going into next year.
Last play was horrible. Had the game right there for a win or OT. Did not execute it. Don't understand the passes on 3rd and short.

Without a stud pass rusher, Vanilla Phil is unable to generate much of a pass rush.
That sack that lost 13 yards? Go back and watch it, the Mizzou defender tripped Sully intentionally and no call. But I agree, Iowa should have been running the ball.

There’s plenty of time. 1:09 to go 12 yards for FG range is an eternity in college fb. Iowa runs around lost, and snaps it when nobody is ready. What an embarrassment of an offense.
Castro had a terrific 2023 but fell off dramatically in 2024.
Now we know why Jones never got replaced during the season...his backup was worse.
