As many of you know I gave the dems shit about changing the rules and definitions of a recession when Biden was in office. For those of you unfamiliar the previous definition was 2 consecutive qtrs of negative GDP, which Biden had, but they said it wasn't a recession because jobs were growing.

Funny old thing life....

How often do you argue with your wife and actually win on the merit of your argument? When you're wrong does she make you admit it?

Dumb statement which only serves to further highlight your ideologically impaired mindset. I don't give 2 fvcks about definitions. The world economy is on fire right now and you post a nonsensical post about karma. Idiot.

Biden did a dumb thing. Trump did a dumber thing.

The only takeaway I have from this are geriatrics are prone to do dumb things and should be age limited out of office.

Market was worse in 2022, where was your outrage? Only 2x in history were equities and bonds down over 20% in the same year. This is nothing compared to 2022.

Gas is an elastic commodity in a supply chain. Pump too much out of the earth and prices fall, pump too little and scarcity makes prices reactive. Bonds and equities flux in the same way...everything seeks an equilibrium in the same way each beat of your heart fluctuates your blood pressure. Keeping everything on an even keel, not too low or too high, can come out of line due to many factors.

No outrage here either, but I'll bite . So in 2022 we were just coming out of a pandemic with supply chains that were still being rebuilt and you want to talk about gas prices. Smart. The entire world economy was upended by an external event. Every government had to react in some manner to avoid certain deep recession or perhaps even depression. Inflation was rampant across the globe and many countries encountered a prolonged period of stagflation as a result. The U.S. fared as well or better than most anyone else. Everyone was forecasting recession in 2023/2024 but it never happened. Was it handled perfectly? No. Were there a lot of good options? No.

Now, flash forward to the beginning of 2025. We had low inflation and consistent GDP growth. We had robus5 stock market growth. We had great allies. We came through it all with one of the strongest economies in the world. Now because of one man's actions it's all being upended. We will see a recession now. The only question is how deep and how long and whether we will encounter a period of stagflation. We have now entered a bear market in the Nasdaq. The only question is how deep and how long. The only one who decides how long is the guy who created it in the first place.
