At +750 behind Tshiebwe (+105) of Kentucky, Kofi(+400) and Davis(+600) The B1G has 3 of the top 4 players in the country. Here's to Keegan kicking ass the rest of the way and carrying the Hawks to a great finish starting tonight.

IMO, it's been his to lose since the year began just like Luka last year. I don't know that they're so far apart that any one of those 3 couldn't win it depending on what happens the rest of the year. I think it might just depend on how the 3 teams finish.in your opinion, has Kofi taken over the lead for B1G POY?
Ie, are the top 3 right now:
1. Kofi, Illinois
2. Davis, Wisconsin
3, Keegan, IOWA
Keegan has better stats all around. He's the superior player by almost any metric. Even Davis has had terrible games, I think he only scored 4 in one game, Keegan has none of those. He's the most consistent, best overall player in the big ten. If Iowa wins out the season and has an impressive showing in the big ten tournament it would be criminal if he didn't at least win big ten player of the year. Cock-burn doesn't deserve it, he's incredibly one dimensional, at least Luka could shoot. Murray, Davis, and probably Ivey are all better candidates in my eyes.Clearly the NPOY has a lot to do with where the team is performing. If Luka had the same kind of season last year but Iowa finished in the bottom third of the league then he's not getting the award. There's a minimum threshold for team performance.
I'd say Kofi has the best combo of 1. buzz from prior year's performance 2. individual stats 3. team performance. Davis gets a slight nod over Keegan due to wisky higher in the standings.

Keegan’s bad games highly correlated to being locked away in Fran’s 2 Foul Jail…Keegan's had bad games too...
And his ankle sprain.Keegan’s bad games highly correlated to being locked away in Fran’s 2 Foul Jail…
Pedos iircKeegan won it when he floated through the air to tip it in to force OT against Rutgers I believe it was. Incredible athlete.

I'm 50 and was drinking at the time.... what do you want?Such a monumental play you don't even remember who it was against?
Correct. Sucks we couldn’t pull it out in 2 OT. That one might work against us come Selection Sunday. Hope we keep winning so it becomes a non factor.Pedos iirc
It'll depend on their respective teams NCAA tourney showing. Assuming all 3 play well it will come down to who makes a deep run.At +750 behind Tshiebwe (+105) of Kentucky, Kofi(+400) and Davis(+600) The B1G has 3 of the top 4 players in the country. How can a projected top 5 pick be under valued? Maybe under valued by crappy media talent ?
Eh, Kofi has excellent footwork. He’s a traditional old school banger center with a baby hook, which the 80’s kid in me can appreciate. He’s a good kid too.Keegan, at this stage, is the POY based on performance. His basketball skills are so far beyond Kofi's that there is simply no comparison. Davis is a versatile player, but if he's rated above Keegan it's only because Wisky is higher in the standings than Iowa, which is a debatable criterion.
Kofi, as I've said before, isn't even a basketball player, so how the hell he can be a POY candidate escapes me. He's a giant who lives in the lane and scores from as far out as five feet on rare occasions. He travels, he carries the ball, and if the rules were enforced, he'd foul out in five minutes every game. Now if we're talking rugby POY, Kofi wins easily. As you may be able to tell, I have no respect for his game whatsoever. Kofi couldn't carry Luka's shoes and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath.
Balls he can't rebound he back tips. He gives Illinois so many extra chances that he doesn't get credit for.Eh, Kofi has excellent footwork. He’s a traditional old school banger center with a baby hook, which the 80’s kid in me can appreciate. He’s a good kid too.
Sure, he doesn’t rain 3’s like the rest of the basketball world nowadays after Steph changed the game. But by your methodology you would not consider Shaq a good basketball player. (He’s universally considered top 20 all time).
Dope hoodie son!
Sure would be great if the Murray family would decide that Keegan could come back and lead Iowa to a regular season B1G championship with Kris. Keegan is as good as it gets.
I'd love that but it's most likely not happening. Let's hope Kris comes back and elevates his game. The team could be salty next year as well.Sure would be great if the Murray family would decide that Keegan could come back and lead Iowa to a regular season B1G championship with Kris. I am aware, just dreaming and hoping that family ties and positive feelings for Iowa somehow make it possible.I'd love that but it's most likely not happening. Let's hope Kris comes back and elevates his game. The team could be salty next year as well.
Definitely should not have been unanimous. WTF is wrong with the Iowa voter.Johnny Davis 3 for 19 tonight. First Team…yes. Player of the Year…no.
He was not the unanimous player of the year. He was the consensus player of the year. Media and Coaches’ selection.Definitely should not have been unanimous. WTF is wrong with the Iowa voter.
