Kellog says Clark is the best

This should help get in her head even more.
I love it!

Reese tried to bait Caitlin into throwing a punch but Caitlin is too classy and smart. She thought she was being cute with her antics but it backfired. Most people are siding with Clark. All Reese did was turn public opinion against her and make Clark even more popular.

She must be seething right now.

Which is why she's still posting shit today, two days later.......

Called her a Ho, complete trash. Still running her mouth today.
Mulkey is total trash for not shutting it down.

Mulkey condoned that type of behavior at her Baylor tenure. I don't think she actively encourages it, per se, but she definitely looks the other way when her players stick their feet in their mouth. In real life - meaning, after college - there's a little thing called accountability. Mulkey didn't do a good job of teaching it at Baylor, and she's not doing a good job at LSU.

And while we're not wrong to complain about LSU failing to win with class, we also need to bear in mind that AR is young and naive. 17-23 year old "men" and "women" tend to act before they think, and don't really consider the consequences.

It's not unreasonable to label AR as 'controversial', but I think it is unreasonable to label her as 'trash'. It's possible (and I sincerely hope) that she grows up, and if she's ever in a coaching position, that she tells her players to "do as I say, and not as I did".

Mulkey on the other hand deserves all the criticism in the world because she clearly has a high tolerance for boorish behavior. Same song, different verse this time.

CC has put women's college basketball on the map even moreso than anything UConn ever has done.

It's simple incredible how the women's tourney swamped the men's tournament.
CC would be just another cog at UConn. Yeah, she'd be a terrific player there and would still be a Top 5 WNBA draft selection, but she stands out at Iowa because she literally carries the team. The closest comparison I can think of is Lindsay Whalen from about 20 years ago, and even then, Whalen's nowhere near as flashy or talented as CC. She's very much a once-in-a-generation player. Not just at Iowa. All of women's hoops.

Noted.

But the single, biggest reason that the women's tourney received record viewership this year was because of Clark.
That's why the entire sport's world is talking about it.

And with the television contract now being negotiated, the timing is perfect.

I think you're wrong. She's the face of womens basketball RIGHT NOW and will be for the next 15 years. She's comparable to Diana Taurasi.

Even Taurasi didn't get this sort of attention. She was the the brightest star on a team full of stars that could have won the natty even without her. People did not go out of their way just to watch her like they did (and still do) for CC. CC stands out even more at Iowa because she doesn't have a star-studded cast like she would at UConn or South Carolina, because fair or not she'd have to share some of the spotlight with a Bueckers or a Boston. She can hog it all to herself in Iowa City because there isn't anyone remotely on her level here. It's sort of like a football team with a dynamo QB-WR or QB-RB combo - both players are Heisman-worthy, but sort of cancel each other out (reminds me of the mid 00s with USC when they had Leinart and Bush).

Perhaps a better comparison would be Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon from a few years ago. It's a story quite familiar to Iowa fans - she's a long, lanky point guard on an otherwise ordinary team and carried her team to a rare Final Four. She in many was can be considered a precursor to CC - there was a fair bit of hype surrounding her in high school and she could have literally played anywhere in the country, but she wanted to be THE star rather than A star. Like CC, her talent was considered 'generational', even 'transcendent'... but as hard as it was to fathom, CC did everying Ionescu did and took it a notch higher.

And even if CC could "only" match Ionescu's hype and accolades, every single one of us would take it every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Sorry but NO. This was a deliberate act. She slipped in one of her posts and admitted that this whole ordeal was a way for her to drive attention to her social media accounts. She was blathering on about hitting a million on her instagram account. She knows exactly what she's doing.....

Sorry, but for all of the triple doubles that Ionescu had, NONE were against a top 25 team, (almost all of Clarks are), and NONE where she scored over 25 points, (and again almost ALL of Clarks are). The Oregon guard was a great facillitator, but their not in the same league as scorers.

She flipped off an entire fan base walking into the arena before the game even started and it’s being completely ignored. She’s being treated graciously if you ask me.

She’s not seething because it worked exactly how she wanted it to: she got herself out there being talked about so her “brand” is out there. I’ve read numerous places where she intends to be a model so I’m sure sees it as there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
And she’s as dumb as a small box of rocks, so….

About Lindsay Whalen and Minnesota's Final Four run in 2004, I just looked up. Minnesota was just 21-8 and 9-7 in the regular season, and received a 7 seed. Talking about catching lightning in a bottle! Penn State was a 1 seed, Purdue a 2, and Iowa was a 9 seed though actually had a better Big Ten record than Minnesota at 10-6. Iowa lost in the first round to, guess who, Virginia Tech. And it's also the first time LSU made it to the Final Four. UConn beat Tennessee for the title.
