Kennedy takes aim at depression meds

I am with him on this one. I took them for 13 years. Haven't needed them since I got out of teaching. Started on Effexor. Had to do without it for a couple weeks. Withdrawal was a bitch. My doctor told me they have diminishing therapeutic effect over time. Dosage has to be increased to produce any benefits. Stopped taking them 8+ years ago and haven't missed them.
So they helped you when you needed it but because you got off others shouldn’t have the option?

Physical exercise dues more for mental health than medication. I’ll find the link https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/ar...ve-than-medication-for-depression-and-anxiety

My whole mental health team is always bringing up working out. They certainly know it is beneficial. Counterpoint, good luck getting someone with major depressive disorder or PTSD to get in the gym if they aren't already a fitness person.

Agree. But now we have a “miracle” drug in Ozempic.

How much you wanna bet a decade or so down the line we’ll find out it has a lot of negative ramifications.

I have been thinking that too.

I asked the lady recently what she thought would be the things they look back on this era and think to themselves WTF were they doing. Because I just like to think about stupid stuff mostly. But I landed on microplastics and ozempic as my guesses.

Microplastics…I’d put that #1.

Even though many of you think I’m undercover MAGA. 🤣

Me and the Frau (she’s more responsible) stay away from plastics as much as possible. Pretty much impossible to abstain because they’re ubiquitous. We don’t do bottled water or plastic bags as a baseline.

We’re ****ed in this battle though 😔

Yeah we are unfortunately and Trump EO'd away PFAS limits. Rather someone that wanted to lower regulations on their business for increased profits found a way to get an EO on Trump's desk and he signed it.
