Tough to see Kenny yesterday but glad to see him still fighting. Anyone know where he is living these days?

Actually Kenny has been fighting for awhile and it was great to see him smiling. The man was a great Hawk. Kenny was a great shooter and if Ronnie Lester doesn't get hurt a his senior year Kenny might have been one of the best shooting guards in Iowa history. Keep the fight moving forward Kenny!

Was that Tree Henry with Kenny at the game yesterday?

yes it was....was great they announced KA got a well deserve applause during a timeout...but felt sort of bad that the announcer didn't mention Mike Henry... from what I understand Tree has done a lot to help Kenny...and after all he was a teammate so he should have also been mentioned.

I remember going to the Kenny Arnold benefit game way back when...This guy has been battling health issues for a long time.

One of my all time favorite Hawks. He was great in the four corners killing time and knocking down free throws.

I think I remember a benefit game back around 1986. Kenny has been fighting a long time. I remember sending a gift card or check.

Kenny Arnold wasn't flashy. He just knew how to play on both ends. I know that Bobby Knight singled him out as a great player in his final game versus IU. Knight said something like he was really glad that his team wouldn't have to play against Kenny Arnold any more. You can't really measure court awareness and a lot of the little things that some players do to make the team better. Kenny excelled at all of those things, and made everyone around him better.

Kenny Arnold was certainly a great Hawkeye who got more out of his talent than most. It was great to see his smiling face back in CHA. Wish nothing but the best for Kenny. It was a really nice moment when Margaret went over to him, held his hand and spoke with his family.

Was any of this on tv? I really liked Arnold back in the day, what a truly great person and Hawkeye. What exactly is his health problems?

KA was diagnosed with brain tumor back in 1985/86. He had no insurance at the time. His surgery to UI Hospitals cost $42,000. Coach Rosborough organized a charity game featuring many former Hawkeyes. The initial game raised $42,000+. I think a couple of games have been played since. While the original surgery was considered successful most of his health issues today are a result of the original diagnosis.

There was a three-year window where Iowa won 5 of 6 against Knight, and I believe Kenny was a large part of that.

Rock solid player. Great ball-handler, never turned it over it seemed.

Echo Bob Knight. Kenny had a very high BBall IQ. Also the best pressure free throw shooter I've seen in a Hawkeye uniform. Shot way over his already good average in the closing minutes. Contemporary on campus, always friendly and pretty down to earth. Very polite.

Kenny was a great Hawkeye. Very good defender and dependable offensive player. One thing I know for sure, I pray to God that I have friends like Mike 'Tree' Henry and Mark Gannon when I really need someone. Rock solid.
