Talking about his seniors. Love him or not players also love to play for him. One thing that can never be said about kf is that he's not a truly genuine caring coach.
Agree, players love him and love to play for him, which flies in the face of all these idiots who come here stating that Kirk Ferentz is only coaching for the money.Talking about his seniors. At his age, low testosterone can be a problem. But I think he actually cares about his players. I don't think I've ever met a coach that doesn't care about his players well being. They wouldn't be coaching in the first place.Lol, yes he did.
I swear he's getting worse and worse about this. Or maybe it's better and better? Emotionally repressed people are no picnic.
Good on you Captain.
The guy is a class act no doubt. At his age, low testosterone can be a problem. But I think he actually cares about his players. I don't think I've ever met a coach that doesn't care about his players well being. They wouldn't be coaching in the first place.
KF should probably get more choked up about making $4million per year while young men like Tyler Sash suffer brain damage and die before they are 30.
Course the $4 mil would be ok if KF won a national championship, right. It would make the CTE issue go away in your mind, right. Your post equating the two is very disturbing.KF should probably get more choked up about making $4million per year while young men like Tyler Sash suffer brain damage and die before they are 30.

You know he did.I imagine kf shed tears over Tyler sash, no question in my mind.

Judging by post game comments from him and locker room stuff after, yes..yes he did.You know he did.
One of the few things Mack Brown said that hit the bullseye. He said , KF was one of the rare breed of coaches who have become part of the place. The University, the players, the state, the people have all become a central part of him and his family. One message came through clearly in Kirk's post game comments. He appreciates IOWA and feels pretty lucky to have ended up here.
I'm guessing as a parent (and now Grandparent) he's developed even more empathy for the work and sacrifice these kids put in...and it shows. It's a pretty demanding profession so no doubt there's an element of emotional release when you see things come to fruition and players reach their potential.
I'll continue to bitch about his offensive constipation, but you have to respect Kirk Ferentz, the man. In a biz full of phonies, cheaters and a-holes Kirk looks pretty solid.

SMH....get all the facts or just be an idiot an place a persons death at the feet of a football coach.KF should probably get more choked up about making $4million per year while young men like Tyler Sash suffer brain damage and die before they are 30.
