We are most likely seeing the last year King will be in college football and in a Hawkeye uniform! Really wish he would stay (and be part of all the hype and expectations of next years team after this years success!) but isn't it great to see talent good enough to be excepted to the next level and early?!!!! Hope he isn't done showing what is he capable of doing for the hawks this year (as can be really special if if keeps it up) but wish him success in whatever direction his good future pulls him! Stay please as we both will be rewarded!!! But if not-Next man in!!!! Go Hawks!!!

Very few players stick very long in the NFL these days.

Getting a college education is important. And making sure you have learned and prepared as fully as possible before taking that shot in the NFL, is very important in your chance at longevity.

Just when I think I have seen the worst post ever this turd lands on my screen.

If I were a projected first or even second round pick I'd be gone. Even a few years in the NFL earns more than most of us with a college degree will make in a lifetime. Plus, you can always go back and get your degree. Why risk your future with a serious injury your senior high?

Everyone always points out the few instances where a player gets seriously injured their senior year.

Nobody ever points out when a player comes out early and then doesn't make it. Or just plays 1-2 years. You better believe the cost of living is quite high those 1-2 years also.

If a player is truly ready, then fine. But, you can't go through a football career worrying about injury. You need to worry about playing good enough football to keep a spot in the line-up.

Career ending injuries are rare, especially since kids now tend to get back to 100% even after serious injuries like ACL injuries, but there are a lot of cases where players' stock goes down their senior year.

Good points. As for the cost of living for an NFL player, though, I suspect it could be quite low. The franchise surely pays for a lot of food and obviously handles travel and lodging for away games. If the player is responsible about his spending, I'd suspect the cost of living could be less than if he went directly into the non-football work force. It seems to me the cost of living for an NFL player in his early years would depend mainly on his own decisions.

Never mind the fact before the season he said graduating was just important as football.
