So are we losing seats and gaining upper tier seats which I just read but my old man who is 89 years old says IOWA is adding 10,000 seats to make it 80,000... I think he needs to lay the crack pipe down as I can’t find anywhere that Kinnick is getting bigger and I don’t think the current structure could even hold that additional enlargement.. even with the N ENDZONE etc.. any info on this thanks!

Does anyone think they will to the same thing to the South end zone in the future. Kind of wondering what that would look like. Or are they going for a Penn State look?

Doesn't seem like it ties into the new press box seamlessly.

The national trend throughout sports is trading lower overall capacity for an increase in more expensive club/lounge seats. Iowa isn't selling out games very often, and everything I read about club/lounge seats is that they have no problem selling them at premium prices.

It appears the new capacity will be 69,107.

  • The current capacity of Kinnick Stadium is 70,585 and the existing north end zone has a seating capacity of 11,712. The proposed north end zone design will have a projected capacity of approximately 10,234. Total capacity of the stadium will stay close to 70,000.
