Would link but it’s an espn insider article. Mel Kiper had his top 5 at each position. Had one list for seniors and another for guys who will be true juniors or redshirts Sophs that’d be draft eligible next year. Iowa had no seniors make the list however Stanley was #4 QB, Fant #1 TE and Brady Ross at FB #2. Also isu rb Montgomery #2. Reading this and looking at depth chart with out a lot of seniors makes one excited not only for next but at very least next 2 year stretch and beyond.

Have guys for least 2 years like A. Nelson, Epenesa, Hooker, Stone, A. jones, Hankins, Rugumba, Wirfs, A. Jackson, Stanley, IKM, T. young, ISM, B. smith, Hockensen etc. One guy I guess up in the air wouldn’t surprised to see leave early is Fant but our depth at TE is solid.

Ross surprises me. Glad to see Stanley getting a little national attention draft wise. Alaric Jackson/Hooker probably aren’t too far off the list

Stanley at No. 4 was a little surprising...I thought he was our secret, but apparently not.
Nate's got a lot to work on, which is a good thing because it shows he can still make solid improvement. This type of pub shows how much love you can get from beating down a school like OSU on national TV. Without that game and the ISU game, I think the narrative would be very different. He has the raw talent and size to play at the next level, and expext to see solid growth from him this year, with a full off season as THE starter.

Ross shouldn’t surprise anyone that much. There’s probably only 13 fullbacks in college football nowadays, with 4 of them playing for us.

I mainly mean that he did a list of draft eligible fullbacks beings there’s so few like you said

Very surprised that he had Stanely that High. He has great potential though and a huge arm.

Would like to see him work on his quicks an knowing when to take off and get 4-5 yards instead of forcing a low percentage pass.

Yes, a nice respite to know the hole will be filled after the graduation of Kulick.
Truthfully Ross probably played more then Kulick the last couple of seasons, so he really is a returning starter. The key will be which of three or four candidates takes the other fullback spot, as we generally play two quite a bit. I'm sure there will be some formations this year with Hock or Wiz lined up as the Hback/fullback as well.

Exactly...Kiper makes his fair share of mistakes, but he rarely misses on Top 5 QBs (absent their order of selection in the draft).

"Like most draft pundits, Kiper fell in love with Russell’s rocket arm that could throw a football a country mile.

And when the former LSU QB was picked No. 1 overall by the Oakland Raiders, Kiper couldn’t stop gushing over the new franchise quarterback.

“Three years from now you could be looking at a guy that’s certainly one of the elite top five quarterbacks in this league… [the] skill set he has is certainly John Elway-like.”

Three years later, Russell had accumulated a 7-18 starting record and was eating his way out of the league with his ballooning weight — not exactly a career that mirrors one of the greatest QBs in NFL history."

Well, shut my mouth, JRHawk ~ Nice post, and link! I was going off memory, and only remembered the wins, not the losses.
