Kirk Ferentz is an absolute embarrassment

Coming from a bunch of chumps who never played a meaningful second of a sport in their entire f****** life

Our last losing season. 4-8 I think... That was an embarrassment. Ohio State embarrassed lots of teams. This is nothing.

Well, the days of hiding in the Big Ten West are over.

Iowa is moving from the fake ID of college football to absolutely irrelevant so long as Kirk hangs around.

Kirk should have retired after the bowl win vs. USC. He’s gone from conservative to an absolute dinosaur.
This years schedule is about the same as the Big Ten West. The schedule Gods have loved us for a long time.

“about” gives one lots of leeway…
I don’t know how anyone can realistically be pissed about how tOSU turned out…it was “men against boys” and it turned out that way.
Iowa has a huge game this next week…(I fear it ends badly for them)… Iowa could struggle the rest of the year… but then, Kirk has a reputation of turning things around when least expected. Go Hawks!

Thank God we are in a P2 conference. Times are a changing. Not being in the P2 is a bad place to be. Whew!
Yep, and you will continue to take beatings like you did Saturday on a routine basis. Congrats on your power 2 status!

He’s a good coach and a good man.

But we have not been competitive against ranked teams for years. We certainly used to be during his tenure.

There’s not many Iowa teams that could have walked into OSU today and won. I think we all get that.

But I think most objective observers would ask how Iowa found itself in the position where the AD forced the Coach to fire the OC. To me it’s coach’s loyalty and stubbornness.

It’s is also unreasonable in college football today in my view to have kept an OC with those results around that many years. We lost those years and wasted some fine defenses.

I like the new OC and it’s going to take some time, but we also need a head coach to realize he needs to a change a bit imo.
My question for this board and those supporting KF is the decision making around the QB role. Why the reluctance to make changes and why the reluctance to get grittier with this role? 4th and foot and Sullivan probably gets the first with a sneak. Sullivan and his mobility perhaps takes some of the heat off KJ. Cades arm is obviously nothing great so Sullivan can’t be any worse there either. This inability to adjust and pivot on Kirk’s part is my biggest objection to his last 5 years of running the program.

This year, yeah.

The greater point is the gratification some Iowa fans have received going to the BTCG a couple years because Iowa won the West despite being maybe the 4th or 5th best team in the conference is over.

All Kirk has to do is give Lester full control of play calling and the Offensive depth chart and recruiting of His Offense , Kirk must realize when You are playing the #3 Team in the Nation on the road in a close Game You attack and keep attacking , He did the opposite Yesterday, He showed full frontal vulva to the entire Country . You have to attack when You get opportunities because against that defense You will not get as many as You get against the Troy's of the World.

I remember over the years how I would tape the game and then look forward to replaying it and enjoying the O and D plays, but that was a few years ago. I don't even tape them anymore, because I no longer care to punish myself. I don't know what KF's buyout is, but I think it's pretty large. I would think at some point he would be big enough to give it up. We've wasted excellent defenses the last several years for nothing. Sad.

I will look forward to watching Marco Lainez light it up for some other team next year.

I’m not a big analytics person but you’d think P4 football has people with that info and time, distance and point on the field. You can’t tell me #s weren’t widely in favorable of Iowa going for it on 4th and short and odds of getting points on the drive high if they converted. Problem was Kirk was coaching that game like it was a 7 pt game against NW at home not at #3 OSU.

Whats even more maddening is times when Kirk does roll the dice make no sense a lot of the time. It’s like he randomly gets a wild hair up his @ss and decides to go for it. Like 2 pts try against isu. No reason especially with RZ play that day. Or few years ago up 15 against Nebby in the 3rd qtr and does a fake fg that was chip shot. Instead of going up 3 scores we need a last sec fg to bail us out. I remember 15’ game at Wisc. Game we won 10-6 first qtr around 10 yd line 4th and 3-4 goes for it and fails instead of taking pts on a day you know pts are at a premium.

It doesn’t matter who the OC is as long as KF is the HC.
