Kirk Ferentz now at 203 Wins at IOWA (#2 All Time in B1G History). Woody Hayes #1 at 205 wins; Amos Alonzo Stagg #3 at 199 wins; Bo #4 at 194 wins

I know many have their pitch forks out & want KF fired, but I think he's around at least 1 more year to (1) break Woody's record; and (2) get to a 60% winning percentage so he's eligible for the Hall of Fame
He may not get that 60%. Next year looks rough

I really hope that Beth has a succession plan already in place

Could Lester (for example) take over seamlessly similar to how Jan took over for Lisa?
Very different situations. Jan was such a part of the culture and program that Bluder built it was a no-brainer. I like Lester but he's a newbie relatively speaking...at Iowa. Seth Wallace would be more likely with Lester as the OC and Lavar Woods or Kelvin Bell as DC.

I'd much prefer we bring in completely new blood. Cignetti type deal.
Kirk has no coaching tree like Hayden.
The culture has been pretty good though as far as tough d (usually) special teams, developing players.
I would be cool as long as they let an O coordinator actually call the shots on offense.
Keep the good Kirk qualities and be smart enough to delegate to people that know what they are doing in other aspects of the team.

Thoughts/Options:
• Hire a CEO-type HC and keep what works, if those coaches are interested.
• Gamble on any of our guys without HC experience. (Or, Lester, who does.)
• Hire an experienced, successful, involved, hot prospect and let him do what he needs to do.

Personally, I prefer a former, successful OC as a head coach.
