This kind of shitty coaching is exactly why I downgraded my streaming service and got rid of the BTN and ESPN packages a few years ago. I’ll occasionally watch this bum-ass coaching staff over the air, but not contribute a dime.
Hell, I'll take the Clone's backup sight unseen. Every Division I team has a QB that can average more than 3.4 yards an attempt. Somehow we keep finding the ones that can't. Maybe it's coaching!

Yes. Ranked #21 with a very manageable schedule. Probably one of the easiest schedules we will see in some time. One loss on the road against Ohio State. It was possible before today.
It was never possible before today. This offense is historic trash. We don’t have Cooper or a punter to bail out the offense. We are going to get run over.
Always, ALWAYS comes down to the offense with a chance to end the game, not being able to do their job. I understand we want the time to go down, but for God sakes, have safe passes on a sprint out that can try to get you a first down. We get a first down and we win. Knowing you are up by two points, a FG by the opposing team is a strong possibility. Go for the damn win and get a first down!
Or throwing a throwback to the TE with a short field on first down. Especially with a tiring, dejected defense on the field. All they had to do was play like they’ve played the last 5 years and force the run and they win by 3 scores.
Burn it down. 25 years of watching this same kind of coaching malpractice.

I agree, it was playing incredibly stupid. Kaleb didn't touch the ball on those two drives in the 1st half where we had the ball 1st down inside the 5 yd line and WAS NOT EVEN on the field for 5 of those 6 plays. Instead they got cute and thought they could either get their favorite RB Moulton a TD or get Cade a Participation Trophy TD pass and it blew up in their faces. Same with the 2 pt conversion, at that point just run Kaleb.
And then there was the horrible interception by Cade in the 2nd half right after the bad punt by ISU when another TD run by Kaleb also ends the game.
By the 4th quarter ISU was able to just key on Kaleb and crash the line because Cade sucked but the game should have been over by then. This was just gross incompetence, not playing not to lose.
I don’t think 10-2 would’ve gotten us in. The SOS just isn’t there. There are going to be a bevy of 9-3/10-2 teams this year from the B1G and SEC that the committee will see in a more favorable light due to:
-program prestige
-strength of schedule
-SEC BIAS
Our quarterback sucks and KF is too much of a pussy for us to be truly great. We just aim for above averages and tell our fans we should be happy with that.

The Big Ten will get 3 teams in probably and I had thought that Iowa had a chance to be the 3rd team if the offense was significantly upgraded.
But this is going to be a mediocre team if Cade continues at QB, it looks like Kirk is going to continue to try to win like he has the last few years, and that wasn't going to get Iowa to 10 wins this year even if they beat Iowa St.
Iowa is due to lose more of these 50/50 games anyway. It's just infuriating that this particular game was turned into a 50/50 game by horrible in-game coaching.
