Knee surgery

A man walks into a Spanish restaurant after a big bull fight. He looks at the menu for a bit and spots ‘meatballs del toro’. So he calls the waiter over and orders this plate. Later, two giant, steaming meatballs come out atop a large plate of spaghetti. Best meatballs the man has ever had. He leaves feeling very satisfied.

Weeks later, after another big bull fight the man is at the same restaurant and seeing the success of his last dish, he orders it again. Like before, two enormous meatballs are presented on a large plate of spaghetti and are even better then before. The man leaves the restaurant with a big tip and wants to go back.

A couple weeks later he does, already knowing what he wants to order. This time, his ‘meatballs del toro’ are two measly, scrawny balls of meat on the plate of spaghetti. He asks the waiter, “What’s wrong with my meatballs, they’re usually humongous and steaming”. The waiter replies

“Oh senor, the matador, he don’t always win”.

I’ve had 5 of them. Easier than the shoulder surgery I’m still recovering from.
One of my brothers is rehabbing after shoulder surgery. Poor guy is hurtin’ for certain. He said today that he is able to touch the jamb above his kitchen door.

Good luck on the surgery and rehab, Ole Bean.

I've been told that shoulders are harder to rehab than knees.
I think so. 12 weeks since I had 3 muscles reattached and still have pain. Daily PT ( on my own ) every 2 weeks at the Sports Medicine clinic in IC. I had both knees done at the same time and after 3 months I was able to do what I wanted with little pain. I need to be ready to give @GOHOX69 pickle ball pointers when the snow melts…

My entanglement with the bull last Summer has resulted in the requirement of another "minor" surgery on Tuesday. Don't ever turn your back on a 2,000# bull and don't ever get old.
Someone from Iowa got killed by a bull in the past month or so.

**** with the bull….you get the horn, a lesson dems refuse to learn.

A farmer gave a lot of money (enough to get his name on the stadium) to Western Carolina U. AJ also set aside a sizable tract of ground for the Nat Resources Dept to utilize as a teaching lab. We designed timber harvests and have studied results/impacts for decades now.
Several years ago he was killed by a big bull as they were trying to get him into a trailer.
Keep on keeping on Bean, but be careful ole boy.

Fast healing my friend.

Had a total knee replacement done in 2020 and will probably have to get the other done in the next 2-3 years.

The key to any orthopedic procedure is the rehab. Do it through the pain and discomfort or you'll regret it.

Bean Jr. owns the bull. He will be removed from the herd this Summer after 4 years of service as Bean Jr. plans on holding back all of his 2025 heifers.
A farmer whose property we deer hunted back in the day had 3 giant bulls, not sure what breed, but they were huge. He had to artificially inseminate his heifers because every time one of those bulls mounted a heifer it broke her back. CSB!

Sorry for your injury and I agree not to turn your back on a bull. However, getting old is a pain in the rear, but it's still better than the alternative.
You know it. Better old than cold!

Just my opinion, but I kinda believe surgeons have gotten really good at repairing knees - but shoulders still seem to be kinda iffy as far as a success rate. Or maybe I'd say that if you go into a shoulder surgery thinking it'll be "good as new" or it'll solve all the issues with why you had the surgery in the first place - the chances aren't necessarily great or even good that these will happen.

Shoulders just seem to be different compared to knees with regard to repairs. I don't know why - they just...are.

My son had three shoulder surgeries in 15 months. They kept going in through the same pink scars.

Scoped in 93, bilateral partial replacements in 2010, both total replacements in 16, infected in 2021, again in 23. I've got between $400 and $500 thousand in my knees.

Don't be afraid to lean on the meds to help you with rehab. They are there for a reason and speed up the process.
