I believe you are on to something here.I’m beginning to think Brian is wanting quicker backs.
What type of backs do they tend to use in New England? Seems like smaller quicker guys for the most part. I think you're right and if that is a foreshadowing of other differences coming to the offense we will see the passing game open up as well.I’m beginning to think Brian is wanting quicker backs.
If this offer is still on the table.....this makes ZERO sense!
May I ask why?If this offer is still on the table.....this makes ZERO sense!
I thought Cyclone fans were saying Brock was an ISU lean and Iowa backed off to save face.Lastly, maybe there is truth to what some of the Cyclone fans have been saying after all. Perhaps the Iowa coaches thought that he had been dragging his feet too much. Given the quality of RBs we were "in play" with .... perhaps Brock was "pressured" to sh*t or get off the pot. However, given that the Hawks have been priding themselves of late for not using high-pressure recruiting techniques .... something still smells a little fishy here.
because if they are still offering other RBs, why did they quit on brock?May I ask why?
Because, obviously there is something there they don't like. There's a reason he ended up in Ames.because if they are still offering other RBs, why did they quit on brock?
Why does this smell? If the coaching staff tells all three RB that the first one to except the offer, he gets the scholarship and the other two will no longer be recruited.I imagine that there could be a few considerations that might be influencing the thinking of the coaches.
Firstly, the departures of Rugamba and Coons are newer developments ... perhaps that was attrition that they (the coaches) didn't foresee. Also, the rumor mill had been suggesting that perhaps something was up concerning Harrell ... a guy who is at RB. If Harrell is lost due to academics (and has to go the JUCO route) ... then that could potentially explicitly open up a RB spot.
Perhaps the prospect of getting our foot in the door of McCammon's school was a dice worth rolling ... even if we don't land him. Also, he's a high quality back that the coaches like too.

Maybe Fran should take this approach. Just offering one recruit hasn't been working...
Sooo true! For some reason too many people believe they know all of the details about every situation .....they dont! Like you said ....let the coaches do there jobs! If some of the people on here were allowed to make big decisions on how this team was run i could only guess what a disaster we would have!!Maybe things have changed since the Brock situation, maybe Iowa backed off of Brock for other reasons?? Maybe Harrell and toks are done at Iowa who knows.. let’s just let the Iowa coaches do their thing
It's possible. Iowa and Purdue both said no thanks pretty quickly. It was quite oddMaybe things have changed since the Brock situation, maybe Iowa backed off of Brock for other reasons?? Maybe Harrell and toks are done at Iowa who knows.. let’s just let the Iowa coaches do their thing
What other 2 schools are still in the running?
Tough little bugger to bring down too....and it’s out of Bama....I ain’t mad about it.
I don't see what is wrong with WONDERING why brock was dropped. I don't think wondering what happened makes you a "know it all". It is no different than assuming brock is a bad kid/lazy/etc.Sooo true! For some reason too many people believe they know all of the details about every situation .....they dont! After watching AW the last two years is it any wonder?I’m beginning to think Brian is wanting quicker backs.
