Didn't you post some pics of the recorder on his desk earlier? The reason "tapes" is in quotes is because this recorder was a digital device. I doubt if he would have put it in quotes if he really didn't have these digital recordings. The odds of him turning them over are very slim though.
Me? No. I have no idea of any digital recorders on his desk.
But if anything exists in digital or tape form, WH lawyers know quite well that lying about them will get them in serious legal trouble. Not providing copies following a formal request from Congress will get them OOJ charges.

Probably nobody but his analysis fits the scenario. There might be other ways to interpret it but the one he gave is certainly a valid one.
Far more valid/realistic than Louise Mensch's take; she seems to grab a snippet of fact and embellish well beyond reality. But, there certainly are nuggets of fact in her stories - just difficult to pull them out amidst all the BS.
This pretty much guarantees this thread is taking over 2nd place on the 'views' list....
The presidents do have the right to declassify any info they want, but it doesn't make it wise.

Was Iran the country sharing the intel with us?...think about it...Trump wants to tip the Russians off so he mentions he's even getting intel from "inside Tehran". Probably a bit of a tin foil hat theory, but if you start thinking it through, it makes sense. Trump has softened on Iran...maybe it's because they're sharing some useful intel with us. That would be a huge intel win for the Russians to find that out.
I've said for a long time here that we need to improve relations with Iran and press them to limit their support of ME terrorist groups. Iran is FAR more Westernized than Saudi Arabia and is 100% against all the Sunni-related radical Islamic groups that the Saudis overtly or covertly fund and support.
Limiting our outlandish rhetoric vs Iran that helps them push their hardliners out of power can eventually be used to pressure the Saudis - last thing SA wants is Iran back in the good graces of the US. Scares the crap out of them.
