Trump has proven himself to be a dumba$$. But I always figured Kushner was relatively intelligent. Perhaps I overestimated his intellectual abilities.

To go along with Nate's points...MS's governor just pulled his "We'll be fine" moment despite the State Health Dept recommending everyone stay home. I have a friend that works at Camp Shelby, MS...He lives 25 minutes from NOLA and has people in his neighborhood that work in NOLA.
MS is going to get hammered. Might be in two weeks, might be by summer, but they'll get hammered.
ANY state that does not aggressively attack this will become the next Ground Zero and another round of nationwide social isolation. UNLESS we wall those states off entirely once others have things under control. Those poorly managed states will keep the pandemic going strong. All because of rightwing propaganda. It's horribly sad and disgusting, but I think the rest of us just need to isolate them and let it ride. If they think it's "fake news", eff them and let them wallow in their mess. Set up Natl Guard at their borders and shoot anyone who tried to cross lines.
Everyone else should not be paying for this stupidity. I'm done with the MAGA ignorance. Sure, they're Americans, but their gross self-interest and disdain for others just makes me want to not give a shit about them, if they refuse to take the basic steps to protect all of us.
And America's aging War Vets....and aging sports icons.....and aging Statesmen....etc etc etc.
I heard the MS governor overrode the mayor and city council of Tupelo's Stay-at-Home order telling people they don't have to isolate themselves.
Someday, this will be recognized in Merriam Webster's dictionary as a new meaning of stupid.
