Well, you don't just rush into these kind of things.
I get automatic mail-in ballots, too.
And, amazingly, the only major "voter fraud scandal" in Colorado I can recall over it was the GOP chairman falsely filling out his GF's ballot "for her" illegally and getting caught, pleading guilty and getting a wrist slap for it.
The scary part is his supporters see nothing wrong with his logic.
