Lehigh just dominated Michigan

I think Michigan had two top-ten guys out, but still big win for Lehigh.

The Snakepit is a great place to watch wrestling, and from what I've seen they get good crowds.

This was very surprising. Will be interested to see if they can win the EIWA this year against a very young Cornell team.

Won 8 out of 10 matches. Final 27-8. Micic didn’t go at 133 but all other starters did.

Neither did Beazley. Their guys seem to get worse as they go along. They have three legit finalists but that's the second match Pantaleo dropped to decent competition. Plus, Lehigh is pretty dang good this year. It's early though.

I can see why KemDawg had Lehigh on his shortlist with us......they must have a pretty solid operation to be doing this with a challenged recruiting pipeline.

What's challenging about it? They sit among the hottest HS wrestling districts in the country, and have had a great reputation for several decades. Besides that, they are a second tier Ivy League type school.

Yes, they sit in Pennsylvania and are right across the river from NJ. Even if PSU takes first choice, the next wave of wrestlers is top notch.

Lehigh was my second choice of school after Iowa unfortunatly I did not get recruited by either and I hated the white and dirt brown uniforms. :D Nice campus and good engineering though

I understand it’s not a no-brainer, but having high academic admissions standards (and classroom expectations), combined with not being one of the Big10/12 powerhouse programs, will surely rule them out for a lot of super-talented recruits.

The ultra-competitive blue-chippers will want to go against the best of the best in a Big10 schedule, and the kids who don’t have much interest in advanced academics will not want the headache and challenge of an Ivy-esque education. For the kid (like a Kemerer) who wants that challenge, it’s a great fit. But ultimately even KemDawg knew that his path to elite skill was best served by a powerhouse wrestling room and a Big10 schedule.

Plus there are some 10 other D1 schools in Pennsylvania that can fight for that second crop of talent after PSU.
