Let’s talk 7/10 seeds

Iowa hasn’t been to the sweet 16 since 1999. Who are projected 7 / 10 teams that we want.

According to Palm:

Oregon 7
Loyola Chi 10
Missouri 7
Msu 10 (won’t be them)
Texas Tech 7
Ga Tech 10
Virginia Tech 7
St Bon 10

None of these are easy. Guess my vote of preference would be Vig Tech or Oregon 7 and hope they lose to their 10 matchup.

I don’t know a ton about these teams, who doesn’t have a front court to match Garza.? Who as tenacious guards that give us trouble?

Texas Tech would be a bad draw IMO

I agree on Texas Tech, though they are one of the few on your list I have watched.

I think playing teams like OSU, Illinois and Wisconsin down the stretch will only sharpen and harden us. We need to be ultra aggressive and likely wont face a team with a specimen like Kofi.

I kind of winced at the thought of most of them. But the thing is if you’re a 7 seed, you’re likely right around the edge of the top 25 (duh Pep)

Texas Tech and Loyola would be the toughest draws. Loyola is #9 in Kenpom and #2 in AdjD. They know how to take away what you do well.

Nah.

I've watched Texas Tech a number of times this season. Aside from their penchant for hero ball 3s, they should not scare Iowa.

It would be highly disappointing to lose to them.

I think we'll get Georgia Tech or Oregon and those will actually be tougher matches.

TT and GT of that group I would think would be 2 to avoid.

TT runs great stuff and is physical on both ends of the floor. Their talent isn’t as strong as their ‘18 and ‘19 teams.

Knew GT was much improved, but after watching them last night, had no idea how much. Their D was tremendous vs a real good FSU team. They kept them at bay all night in a tight game. Bilas spoke of how effective their switching zones within the same possession was vs a talented FSU team.

I love Loyola and Hope they go far, but I think Iowa’s pace would be too much for them. Loyola doesn’t play a lot of guys. Iowa would wear them down imho.
