Ignorance is bliss so it makes sense conservatives tend to be happier.
This has been known for years.
A good liberal always wants change, is never satisfied with how things are.
The very mindset is one of dissatisfaction. Conservatives have a tendency to err in the opposite direction, too satisfied to leave things alone even when change is needed, which is a mindset of contentment.
It's never surprising when these reports show what they do, and honestly its best left unsaid. It just leads to senseless bickering.

Contentment is an underappreciated character attribute.
Deeply unhappy and more likely than not to have been diagnosed with a mental illness seems to suggest something very clearly beyond “dissatisfied with the status quo”.
Women aren't thrilled to have their rights stripped away by the supreme court? Who knew?

Maybe it’s as simple as liberal women are more likely to seek treatment and receive an official diagnosis? And live in places that encourage mental health treatment or where it’s more available?
