To be fair, the trans issue is merely one of many topics that the democrat party has completely retarded takes on.
Polling consistently showed that it was only important (and not even the most important) to about 11% of voters.
FWIW, hopefully there are people in the Dem party that listen to the opinions that you express here. IMO, many Dems misdiagnose and fail to comprehend the thoughts of so many people, yet you do not. You seem to me to have a solid grasp of the factors that, again IMO, greatly impacted this POTUS election.
This election was SO winnable for the Dems, yet they lost it anyway AND then so many do not seem to understand why.
There are currently between 6 and 12 trans males playing in women's sports in the USA, from middle school to college. (The number depends on who is counting). That's it. Maybe 10 trans kids total scattered around the country. The youngest is 11.
The courts have consistently held amateur athletic associations to follow the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which prohibits discrimination on sex or gender. There is a wide discrepancy among athletic associations on how to measure or classify trans athletes based on hormone or sex change therapies.
You blame the Democrats, but if you have not noticed, the Republicans have not put forward any laws to repeal the Civil Rights Act protections for sex and gender. Why is that? 12 trans athletes in this country got you to vote Republican you say? Where's the Republican bill to ban them? Why doesn't it exist?
A half dozen mostly mediocre amateur athletes is hardly worth anyone's time, except for the fact that the GOP relies on inciting demonization of minority groups like blacks, brown immigrants, and trans to motivate their bigoted voting base to show up and vote in favor of cutting social security to fund massive tax cuts for corporate billionaires, promote energy policies that severely damage the climate and increase pollution, take public lands and give them to foreign companies for loot and destroy, withdraw American power from the world like a little scared hen so dominant, masculine powers in Russia, Iran, North Korea and China can push around, dominate, and absorb smaller free market democracies.
But yeah, those 12 trans! More than 12 women have already *actually died* due to the ban on abortion. But some girl in Pennsylvania came in 5th in a swim meet instead of 4th because of a Trans! That's what's I'm voting on!

Let me say this. I don’t agree with tax payer funded sex changes. I also believe in fidelity to Title IX. But what I find most disagreeable is the level of hatred and bigotry espoused by the right toward transgender people.

Trans issue aside, I can't imagine admitting I care enough about the fairness of athletic competition to have it affect my vote. I mean, I love my Hawkeyes and all, but when I find myself getting carried away I start to feel like the "it's still real to me" guy. Serious business. Lol.
I think people have deluded themselves into thinking they are truly concerned about the fairness piece; that they aren't just weirded out by trans people. I can only assume they find comfort in thinking they have found a compelling and reasonable argument against something when they really just simply find it icky.
