I get being optimistic about a new coach but the unrealistic talk about their recruiting is just crazy. They have some decent recruits but nothing to get crazy about. All the Iowa guys they have didn't have an Iowa offer.
To give an example of the ridiculousness. They simply offered a 5 star player and there were people thinking that was some kind of big deal think that they have a chance. They think they are going to start recruiting top 25 classes. I don't get it. They are setting themselves up for a huge letdown when the season roles around and they only win 4 games. I saw one guys saying it wouldn't be long till they start pulling in 4/5 star QBs.

This fact that this thread even exists is proof positive that Iowa fans are just as obsessed about Iowa State as Iowa State fans are about Iowa.
Delusions of grandeur is simply a requirement of being an isu grad. The only difference between now and when Earle Bruce left is the calendar reads 2016.

If you look at their out of state recuirts. Most have offers from Mac schools and Syracuse(who's coach just came out of the Mac)... He is just getting the guys he had been building a relationship with when he was at Toledo. none of them wow me.. But who knows maybe he can develops players. When he was at Toledo he was brining in typically the top classes in the Mac but wasn't winning the Mac.. So you can say he has proven to do less with more.
Toledo is a MAC power as well he walked into a good situation there that was already established.
ISU has ten commits and nine of those are 3 stars, how is this not a nice class for them? Iowa would have been happy with that ratio as recently as last year. And when KF offers a kid with only MAC offers it is a good thing because he is a diamond in the rough, but when ISU does the same thing none of them WOW us. Iowa fans get a couple of 4 star commits and all of the sudden we act like this is business as usual.

The difference is when Iowa gets those commits they don't think they are recruiting at an elite level. It seems a lot of fans on Cyfan do think that. Saying stuff like they will finish in the top 25 in the country in recruiting and maybe top 15. Talking about how they are going to start landing 5 star RBs and 4/5 star QBs. I don't think I have ever heard anything of the sort from Iowa fans when a low 3 star commits.

Almost all of them have a Power 5 offer so that is pretty good. Again not too different from Iowa's classes the last 20 years. Can't we give ISU a little credit and understand why their fan base would be excited about this?
The scoreboard shows isu leading iowa 21 to 0. Show me something comperable coming out of Iowa's marketing dept.

That's not even true. Half of them do. No one is saying it isn't good for ISU but that's now what ISU fans are saying. They are making it out like they are recruiting at an elite level.

Really? Have you read any of gilligan/kilroy/herby's posts in the last few years? Cherry picking some posters on the ISU site is an easy thing to do. There are also fans over there that are excited about their class so far and realize that 4 and 5 star recruits aren't going to be flocking to Ames.

Dont spend too much time on ISU sites Im talking about the ones that come to every IA site and brag about getting a LB from dowling that I've never heard of and say they are going to be a top 30 class. But keep trying...
Oh yes the LB from Dowling that has the same ranking as the DE from Wellman and the TE from Solon. I love both of the kids that Iowa got, but come on dude you take a couple of over excited ISU fans that say they will have a top 30 class and think it is all ISU fans. Do you not remember how excited some Iowa fans were last year when Iowa's class was top 25 early on in the process because of the number of early commits?

Nobodys going over there to CF and bragging about those two recruits you mentioned. Most knew that Iowas ranking would not last for 2016. All I said was that their class is not that impressive and they would finish back where they usually do. I would not expect from somebody from another school to say that Iowa's 2016 class was impressive on paper. And unless they can pull in a 4 star or two I dont think my prediction will be incorrect
OK. As i asked already, please show me the Iowa marketing dept's version of that.
