Underrated? I mean super famous but still a little underrated? I love Rod Stewart
Charlie Daniels died a couple of years ago.
If you're listing Neil Young, you should probably also include Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
I'd probably bold George Strait in front of Hank Jr. Strait's had more #1 hits than anyone else. His first #1 song was in 1982, his last was in 2013. In those 32 years, he had at least one #1 song in all but five years, which is pretty damned amazing.
It’s amazing how Dion keeps going! People forget that he played the Surf along with Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens that fateful night in February 1959. A true living legend!
Probably outside legend status but Harold Winley joined the Clovers in 1948 and is still performing with the group whose hits include ‘Love Potion #9’ and ‘Devil or Angel’. Terry Johnston still performs with the Flamingos who’s hit ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’ is currently being used for a commercial. Original Teenager Jimmy Merchant is living and I believe occasionally performs.
Charlie Gracie had hits in the 1950s and still performs today. Connie Francis sold millions of records in the 50s and 60s. Neil Sedaka has had a very long and distinguished career starting at the Brill Building in the 50s.
Art Adams may be the last shaky legged original rockabilly from the 1950s. He still performs. Wanda Jackson, for many the Queen of rockabilly (Janis Martin for me) is alive and kicking. Child guitar wizard Larry Collins of the Collins Kids is alive and revered in California. Freddy ‘Boom Boom’ Cannon is alive. Gary US Bonds, alive.
Most of my favorite 1950s rockers have passed.

Tony Bennett? I think his career started in the 1940s. Not my cup but he’s had a long successful career.
to me the top of the list is Tony Iommi. No one on the list, save for Dave Mustaine, has had a bigger impact on me musically.
