Love his heart, hustle and toughness just to be on the court! I feel bad for him that his knees don't allow him to play to his full potential. At this point he's a couple of steps behind the speed of a game, I think he'll figure it out and provide productive minutes yet.

Sorry but I would play Till over him. He's pretty much walk-on level now.

It’s amazing how many turnovers he makes considering he’s a reserve PF that rarely plays.

it's due to lack of explosion/confidence going to the basket. He had a clear lane to the hoop and tried passing out to wing and it got picked off on one, he could have gotten to the rim but felt he would be challenged and not able to finish.

right now it's the back issues that are limiting his ability more than anything. he's doing all he can to give some minutes and does a good job on the glass when he's in there. be great to see him regain some confidence in his offense.

Pemsl is hurting more than he’s helping and that’s unfortunate.

I agree that he did hurt more than help today but I think minutes for him are necessary to be a solid contributor down the stretch because due to injuries we need minutes from another big body.

There’s plenty to feel good about. Joe T had a much better game then Cincy and I love his toughness. He’s making freshman mistakes, but you can see he’s growing as he goes.

I wonder if teams in the league will give Garza his and defend the others closely knowing Joe T is the only one who takes you off the bounce regularly. Luka just outworks everyone every game. It’s his team.

Joe W was forced to look for his shot a bit more and did well when he shot it. He was great grabbing some defensive boards too. He holds the ball over his head and Telegraphs his post feeds and his defense was not up to par today.

I thought we defended the bigs pretty well, but we’re slow to the defensive board.

Conner took care of the rock and helped out when PSU was trying to pressure.

We’re definitely better than I thought at the start of the year and I love our effort and toughness. If CJF is healthy we can compete most games and we’re fun to watch.

And I don't like to be critical but his game mentally is not where it needs to be. He seems to be afraid to take a shot enemies a turnover machine.

he had a couple bone headed turnovers but other than that was solid today
What do you consider solid? I bought Schulz when Bartow said that. He's tentative not Crystal this passes afraid to take a shot you had a wide-open lay-up and pass the ball and threw it right into the opponent's hands. Just saying not sure what everybody's looking at

IMO Ti;; needs to get at least half of his minutes. CP is a liability with his physical limitations, not to mention he makes some very bad decisions with the ball.

One of Pemsl’s turnovers was the result of a horrible pass that never should have been made. His teammates need to understand what he can and cannot do and not place him in positions where he is bound to fail. He’s the 2nd best rebounder on the team right now and a veteran player who we need for depth. Unfortunately, he has turned into everyone’s kicking post.

If it's the one in transition where Connor gave him the ball going twoards the rim, then I somewhat agree.

Connor probably needs to know his personal there but Pemsl cut through the lane and got the pass, at that point he needed to just shoot the ball.

Even if you get blocked it's not that big of a deal. Garza usually gets blocked once or twice a game and it doesn't slow him down a bit.

Connor, C.J. Evelyn, Pemsl, and Till, need to understand one thing and one thing only, not only understand it but memorize it....."100% of all shots not taken, will never go through the net" true story!
This team is toast if or when Garza or Wieskamp ever get injured for any length of time, having a consistent 3rd scorer is paramount in Iowa achieving their goal for the year!

CJ is our 3rd scoring threat. I don't know what games you watch but Connor shooting the ball more isn't a recipe for success. For some reason he decided to jack two shots up in the closing minutes with a predictable result. We also don't need Pemsyl and Evelyn shooting more.

I appreciate that Pemsl gives effort. Unfortunately he's so physically limited now following multiple injuries and surgeries that it's tough for him to keep up.
He'll need to keep giving minutes as a necessity due to the limited bench. Hopefully it won't amount to more than 7 or so a game unless it's a blowout.

I think they should allow him to wear a red jersey like the QB's wear in practice so Iowa's Guards can identify him on the offensive end as the person you don't throw the ball to under any circumstances.

He won't look for a shot, and his whole intent is to get the ball out of his hands as quickly as he possibly can, and that leads to poor passes and/or turnovers.

To summarize, he shouldn't touch the ball unless he rebounds it or somehow blocks a shot. Set screens and rebound for 8 minutes a game, that's it. That's who he currently is and if that's the case adjust for it when he's in the game.

I know he cares and wants to do well, limit his touches and give him the best chance to make a positive contribution while he's in there.

Your statement seems harsh, but considering Pemsl's current attributes it's spot on. I literally cringed when Connor through the ball to Pemsl in the left corner at the 10:47 mark,1st half, 2 shot fakes and watched as his brain short circuited and he realized he had the ball in his hands and couldn't get rid of it fast enough and again at the 11:11 mark in the 2nd half, Pemsl within feet of a lay up, he instead tries to throw the ball to Evelyn in the right corner resulting in a turnover.
I'm trying to figure out how this mountain of a man became so affected with offensiveitis during his redshirt year.
I literally watched him before many home games last year shooting jump shot after jump shot and making quite a few of them with great form. What the ell happened....the University of Iowa is widely known for it medical expertise, they fixed his body, but it appears the coaching staff needs to set him up with someone that can fix his mind as well. If not we all may need a shrink before this season is over...

obviously. hell at this point we're probably screwed if any starter goes down. hopefully they all go their flu shots!! :D

Yeah that makes sense it's his teammates fault LOL

Love Pemsl's heart and toughness, but he isn't capable of much right now. His lateral speed and his vertical are probably pretty similar to mine, but I'm over 60.

Pemsl is hurting more than he’s helping and that’s unfortunate.

Tend to agree. His knees are such that he can't jump or guard anybody away from the basket nor does he pose any threat offensively. His single role is to eat up a couple minutes here and there while a regular takes a quick breather.

I like the kid but he doesn't bring much to the table anymore.

He’s contributed 1 game out of 14. So we should expect him to contribute in 1 more game for the back half of the season?
He’s brand new to the team. There has been a very small sample size of playing time and in general his play has been trending up. He certainly didn’t hurt us against PSU, he just didn’t add much offensively. But you go ahead and form your conclusions, I’ll wait.
