Love this CCG scenario

not just the "win and go to playoff" part, which is awesome of course. I like that it's an opportunity against a team we haven't played yet. When the CCG era began I pretty much assumed/worried that it would end up as a second chance for a team like OSU to get revenge on us for an upset earlier in the year (typical negative Hawk fan thoughts, I know). Historically it's been rare that we beat teams like OSU, so I figured some year we'd upset them only to have to play them again - instead of how in the old days we would have held a Rose Bowl tiebreaker against them, etc.

Anyway, this current REAL scenario next Saturday is truly awesome!

No one else had the same "worst case" outlook 5 years ago about what the CCG could mean for programs like Iowa? Much like a seven game series favors the better team, I just figured we'd upset someone only to have to do it all over again a month later. THIS is much better!

Agreed, but there's only a 29% chance it will be a rematch game.

43% next year, actually maybe less since the loser of any regular season matchup will have a loss to overcome to win division
