Love to hate Flo? Clark 7th, Brock Wins. Love OSU much?

i'm getting tired of all the pst boys being on the cory clark train.it is not hard to see they are worried about fost and fokst. root for gross then.

Is crablegs a Penn State fan?

Part ISU/Part Iowa

Is being a nice kid from a great family one of the seeding criteria?

Come on man, how does that have anything to do with where someone PREDICTS him placing??? He's injured with a brutal path - to the finals or to an AA finish. I love Cory Clark and have from day one. He's one of my all time favorite Hawkeyes, but I like to think I can be objective enough to realize this tournament will have a razor thin margin for him. Think M* in 09. He could win or he could not AA and neither would surprise me. Picking him to finish 7th should hardly be viewed as disrespectful.

I would agree if he hasn't been wrestling so tough. He barely lost to NATO...by a second. That match goes into OT, he wins. Also, Clark tends to turn it on at NCAAs...took fourth at B1gs his freshman year(?) and was 5th at NCAAs...took third his soph year and was 2nd. Lost to Guilbon and beat him at NCAAs. Finally, Clark tends to wrestle guys tougher the second time. Decent chance he goes all the way through to the finals. Not going to be easy and I think he has one of the toughest draws in the tourney but he can do it.

I agree 100%. I'm a huge CC fan and will be really bummed if he doesn't win it. But to act like it's blasphemy that someone would dare to say he'd finish 7th given all the circumstances, is a bit silly. That's my point.

It may not be blasphemy BigFall but there are more reasons why Clark can do better than 7th than there are for Kaid Brock to win it. Brock edged Clark but lost twice to Gross. Other than that...his toughest opponent was Forys of Pitt...who they have placed ahead of Clark. Clark has had to wrestle Micic, Nato, Montoya, and Brock and it's been an abbreviated season for him. Would have had to wrestle Gross too had he not been injured. His losses have been razor thin.

Kaid Brock-Beat Clark and Forys, does not get by Gross IMO
NATO-Most likely champ...if he loses, it will be to Clark or Gross. Manhandles Brock
Gross-Likely finalist...could beat Clark if they drop down. Only loss was to Montoya who rode him out at Midlands
Micic-Has a shot against Clark in the quarters but I think Clark gets better vs first time he beat him. Clarks range of motion and strength seem to be improving
Scotty Parker-Best wins are Alber and Cortez; lost to Forys. Hasn't wrestled anybody else
Forys-Best wins are Parker and Hall

If my memory serves me, none of these guys are AA's except for NATO...both Clark and NATO have been through some wars at NCAAs against some good wrestlers. The only thing that could make this come true is if Cory drops down and sulks. Otherwise, there is no evidence to suggest that this order of finish is even close. This doesn't even factor Richards or Montoya who are very capable of finishing top 5

If it is directed at me? My reasoning is the totality of the write up not just Clark getting 7th, I am not losing sleep over this just simply saying poor taste with the "positive note" and rational for Brock beating NATO, he had 3 tough wrestlers to get past. Who did Brock beat... oh yeah the video they posted of him over Hall. It is a hard bracket and anything can happen. Azchief summed it up well, so I will not go over it again.

I know we are all looking ahead and I don't want to be that guy, but has anyone commented on Clark's first round matchup with Schram? I mean that is a tough draw out the gate.

there was a thread (post B1G's i think) on
BWI with the psu fans lauding Clark for his class and sportsmanship.
but you can't tell me their hate for ohio state isn;t a contributing factor and willie i do not care what is on bwi.

:) Wrestling isn't football. I can't speak for everyone, but I can tell you that never once entered my head. I can see that it looks like self-interest to root for Clark, but in reality, many, including me, have wanted to chime in on Clark to show support to someone who had a tough break, and whom its easy to root for.

Personally, the second Cortez was gone, I was rooting for Clark to win. I have always rooted for him. I never once thought about the team race as to Clark, especially a couple of months ago.

So while I get it that it is tiresome, better learn to be patient. Clark is one of those guys that I think will always generate a lot of genuine goodwill, and you should be glad that he represents Iowa. ;) At least its Friday. Weekend, and another day closer....

Sorry you feel that way.

Well how should I have felt? It was your 12th post after being here about 3 weeks and you call someone a first class prick because he presents an opinion you may not agree with. Not impressive. Any pimple faced teenager with anger/hormone problems responds that way.

It is a message board where people come to post their ideas and opinions. Not go all bizzaro and potty mouth when someone questions your thoughts. Don't fly off the handle and start name calling. Come up with a rational response. Put some facts on the board and show people you know what you're talking about. That you've got a better understanding of the situation and can describe with a clear rendition of the facts why you viewpoint is correct. WIN the discussion. You automatically lose when you resort to name calling.

Now.............bring some good intelligent thoughts to the board and show us you know how to have a lively discussion while respecting everyone's right to their own viewpoint.

That was all I had been doing! He came at me first and I responded. Bu I'm the bad guy. Whatever.

Well lets just finish predicting all of FLOs predictions before they come out and we're not surprised.

Kemerer- 7th. Looked great all year but who knows how that knees gonna hold up, and he's a freshman at NCAAs. Look for Kemerer to finish a great freshman season with a fantastic AA finish in St Louis

Gunther - 0-2. He's just got a tough draw.

Meyer - 0-2. It all depends on which Alex Meyer show up, given our advance FLO prediction formula, we have determined Meyer will be off his game.

Brooks - 7th. The Hawkeye SR caps off his career on a positive note with an AA finish, and moves up the podium from last year. He's capable of beating and losing to anybody in this weight!

Looks about right. Makes you wanna grab a subscription right away, doesn't it? I can hardly wait to get mine.

But you left out the team predictions. Last year they had us finishing 8th. We pretty much crapped the bed and still finished 5th without Stoll, who would have put us in 4th or 3rd.

So without Stoll and with injuries to Clark and Kemerer, I'm gonna say Flo predicts a "strong finish" in 14th.

when/where did flo pick iowa 8th last year?
FRL 105: Go to the 11:00 min mark. When y'all start talking Iowa.

Just to be clear I really do love FLO (didn't even bother going about the whole refund business), as well as you and CP (your willingness to interact with wrestling community, and give genuine opinions), I was just making fun of Speys predictions, its all they are is predictions, I value them the same as your predictions, CP's, mine, or any other wrestling fans. But the whole point of them is to have people talking about whether they agree or disagree with them anyways so the function is working perfectly!

I remember CP picking us falling on our face big time last year, and we did a little but not that far. Our guys do have some interesting paths. I do not see Sorensen falling that far but history says he will have some hard fought close battles.

Some say you come here to debate when all you really come here for is to rationalize and make excuses. Perhaps the bias does get you more attention and everyone has their own opionons of flo and as for me, I will find other sites and not give you any of my money.
Looking very much forward to supporting TrackWrestling as they throw their hat in the ring. I think the vast majority of Iowa fans will go with Track. This could have significant ramifications for Flo, of course. I'm sure there are a whole lot of Iowa fans out there who would like to support a wrestling media outlet that maintains a high level of professionalism and objectivity. There's a big market (by college wrestling standards) waiting for Track to tap into it.

Wow! Back pedal any faster?

Insightful.
Do you really need me to explain this to you? You've been on here whining about flo's "iowa bias" and their terrible predictions. As soon as Willie says something you change directions immediately. You actually say you love Willie. Just Pathetic.

Find where I whine once about flo's Iowa bias. You won't be able to, because you're just talking out of your ass. As per normal. I've always been supportive of FLO and willie/CP. I was making fun of the flo predictions there. You can support something and not agree with all of the content. Someone of lesser intelligence such as yourself may find that a difficult concept to grasp. But then again, most of your posts here lack in substance, so not really a surprise.

You Penn State trolls are getting old. We normally don't have to deal with this many during an off week.

I've posted on here for a couple of years now that Clark is my favorite Iowa guy and that I would root for him always unless it costs PSU. It's really not that hard to see why is it? Kid is all class, tough as nails, represents his team well. I think people really like Sorenson as well. By next year Kemerer will be a guy that a lot of the country roots for.

Yes, everyone's fanbase will root for their top competitor's guys to go down - they want their team to win. But you diminish the amount of respect Clark has earned on and off the mat with your comment.

I'm in the other group of Hawk fans. The group that loves the extensive coverage and doesn't get offended when they say 'mean' things about Iowa (like our injured 133 pounder will finish 7th).

There is plenty of room in wrestling for track to come in too. Andy Hamilton is about as good as they come.

Very typical flo response! Oh, and since you evidently never took any advanced english/debate/speech courses, rationalizing means trying to find a way to make a statement you made seem true or logical. Debate, would mean using facts to actually prove a point.

Funny -- I don't see any PSU trolls on my feed.
Out of curiosity I checked to see who I was ignoring. FTB it turns out. Post #5 he/it referred to Kemerer as kimdog so that was enough for me. Curiosity confirms I was correct to ignore the first time.
