He's listed as a Junior on the roster.

I see senior on the roster. I thought he went somewhere for a year before Iowa, Wisconsin maybe? I am not sure he competed but I would still think it would start his college clock. Maybe they could get a 6th year? It seems more common.

Paul Glynn seemed to have a good day of wrestling. Does he have any shot at the 141 spot? Would he be able to drop to 133 next year?

Ah, I must've looked at an older link.

http://www.hawkeyesports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=1163

he's listed as a JR there with the same bio info as the one on the roster where hes listed as a SR.

Didn't Laux take a season off before Wisconsin because he needed size to grow into 125? Not trying to make this into a Spencer Lee thread but put me in the corner of not being concerned about his size.
He's had a road well traveled, the details probably murky for most, including me or I'd post them. But the fact is he was a "little fella" that had to grow, which is true for Spencer Lee as well, probably not to the same degree, but some.

Laux has proven he belongs on a DI mat IMO. But he's up against some of the best in his own room. One would think he doesn't cut much if at all to make 125 (last we saw of him anyway), but perhaps he made a concerted effort to get bigger, and/or had visions of getting considerably bigger when there appears to be a spot up for grabs at 141 (quite the leap IMO). I do believe he is a fine wrestler, just in a tough spot in a good room around his weight. It happens.

I have no idea, but Chief said he looks bigger (he wasn't on the roster last year apparently, hard to keep track), I'll take his word for it until I see for myself, but frankly that's not something I'm real good observing anyway. From VERY early appearances, it appears Laux will back up Clark and Perez Perez can back up Gilman when and if necessary (PP doesn't appear to be in the same class of wrestler as Laux (1st team Asics All-American as a Junior in H.S.), but he can make 125 it appears).

He didn't enroll at Wisconsin so his clock didn't start. Same class as Clark and Gilman out of HS so that's why he's a RS junior.

Hope Young wrestles at Midlands.
"Problem" is the Hawks have one too many good wrestlers for 3 weight classes, 149-165. I don't know how Young will fare against tougher competition, but imagine Sorensen, Kemerer, Marinelli, and Young at 141-165 respectively. I hope that Kemerer and Marinelli are able to adapt and dominate up a weight from where they would have otherwise competed. This situation could also drive Young up a weight class to 174 next year since Sorensen will be a senior.

You think that we'll see Kemerer 149 Marinelli 157 and Young 165 after Sorensen graduates?

Yeah, I found an article later, but it sounds like he did enroll at Kirkwood that year. I always thought he was listed as the same year as the seniors but I could be wrong.

This. No reason for either one to get hurt in some freak accident or for Kem to get stuck in a fluke and have a bad loss
Terry was yelling at the ref after Kemerer got the last take down for the TF. Kemerer had his knee bent and twisted all funny and the ref didn't call PD. Kemerer got the takedown and appeared to be fine, but Terry was pissed and let the ref know.

Sorry Steven I tried, you're on your own then bud. o_O

I think it's possible, but the longer they wrestle "heavy" the more difficult it will be to cut down. Basically, I have no idea what I'm talking about...I'm just a fan.
i have less than than no idea but would think it would be detrimental too try and go back down after they have been adding muscle. Got think they are better off at 157/165/174
