Got 12 in our group, haven't been up to madtown since 05 where we tailgated in a crappy parking garage around regent and park st, IIRC.

Looking online it appears some good spots near the lake, lots 60 and 62? Where will all the hawk fans be?!?

It's very much a first-come, first-serve deal like you find in some houses around Kinnick. The last time I was there we just pulled into the first public lot that we saw. Ended up being a church. Took forever to find it after the game. The tailgating scene right around Camp Randall is extremely lame and overrated. Most people pay money to get into corporate beer tents or bars. I've been twice and was thoroughly unimpressed by the pre-and post-game festivities both times. The stadium and band are really cool, though.

I live up here. Have for about 10 years. My best experiences are going to a neighborhood area west of the stadium about 5 or 6 blocks. Two things. Get there early (Wisky tailgaters start late so that shouldn't be a problem). And see make sure you are drinking in a yard. On the sidewalk or street you can easily get a ticket. Also by being on the west side it is a much easier exit out of the area. Then again if we win by 14 you don't have to worry about that. Tailgating there is not a great thing

Sounds like you were in the meriter lot last time. Show up early and you will get one of the good spots outside and directly on Regent in the Meriter lot. Wisconsin fans don't show up until about 2 hours before kick so you should be good.

Wisc fans don't show up until 2 hrs before kickoff? That's the funniest thing I have heard in a long time.

What are people paying for tickets? Trying to find a few together on the internets and they seem a tad high.

Older fans parking in reserved areas do tend to show up about 2 hours before an early start unless they want a place unique to their needs (set up shelter, close to rest rooms, electric outlet, etc.)
I would disagree with Packer54 about the tailgating scene. Despite space constraints, I think it is pretty widespread and vibrant. Had an Iowa fan with me for the Troy game and he was impressed. Look forward to seeing our Hawk guests pre and post game.

We tailgated in the edgewood high school parking lot last time. It's south west of the stadium so not bad getting in and out of town and not too far of a walk to the stadium. Pretty cheap too if I remember right.
