It's the order of things and the majority party's responsibility of organizing the House. The Republican's ineptitude is not new. They have been dumping Speakers for decades. Since Gingrich (which they shitcanned) and the jello-quality legislators Red states gerrymandering has forced on Congress the situation has worsened.

The current shit show was inevitable once McCarthy got tossed. I think with all his warts and deficiencies him still being the House Speaker would be a better situation for the country....especially with all that's going on now. The way things look this could go on for a couple more weeks.
Was hoping the D's would throw a few votes his way to avoid that. Maybe use it as a way to gain leverage on McCarthy cuz Gaetz and crew weren't going to quit. He'd always have that knife at his neck. I realize that was an unrealistic expectation and the R's wouldn't have done it if roles were reversed either.
It isn't the D's "fault"....the fault lies with the R's.
R's will pay the political price for this, not D's.

The current shit show was inevitable when McCarthy bent over for the wingnuts to get the job. Of course him being Speaker would be better...for everyone...but that ship sailed the moment the vote that made him speaker was taken. Then he refused to lead in ANY way that would gain Democratic support. He broke deals and he refused to reach out in any substantive way and when his ass was on fire he announced there would be no dealing with Dems to save it. The Dems agreed to no funding for Ukraine to get the CR passed and it got them N-O-T-H-I-N-G.
The knife they would have held at his throat would have been pulled from their own back. And he would have just stuck them again because he has NO IDEA how to lead. Nor does anyone else in that caucus. Nothing the Dems could have done would have gotten McCarthy to change.
No kidding.
If McCarthy survived this round, it would have been temporary. Watching those Weaponization Committee hearings was sickening. Congress should address the nation's needs instead of immediately going on tangents targeting Congress members, agencies and organizations. It was Senator Joe McCarthy's anti-American Committee bullshit all over again which it appeared they were trying to emulate. And will be considered the same ridiculous exercise, but more childish with no more evidence and no lessons learned.
These Republicans House members are soft on an intellect and that translates to lack of legislative ability. Face it. They don't have a comparable Pelosi or Jeffries. Not close.
It also translates to compromising our national security.
