Malik Williams F recruit for 2017

New offer for 2017, forward Malik Williams from Fort Wayne, IN.


Rivals lists him at 6'10"/200lbs but I think he looks bigger. Offers from Indiana, Purdue, MSU, Wake Forest, Xavier, Cincinnati. Video below from a month ago. To me he looks like he plays either forward position or an unconventional center. Great handle and shot- shotblocker inside. Would continue the tradition of long skilled forwards for Fran in a big way. In fact, looking at the vid again, Williams could legitimately play guard too. Yeah, he would pair very well with Cook.

i think the only way we could get him would be to sell him on playing SF at Iowa. At PD and IN he'd be playing PF or center by 2017. We have a history now of playing taller guys at SF.

Yeah, but Painter has tended to go with only one real big guy in the lineup at any given time for most of his reign at PD. Until this year when Swanigan and Hammonds/Haas are slated to see lots of minutes together. I'm sure he'll find a way to cope (ha, ha), but I'm thinking it will be an adjustment.
