Yeah. This was all prior to Brian taking over.Shimonek had almost 4k passing in 2017. Rudock at Michigan had a more than solid year.

Lainez was on O'keefe, I don't think Budmayr had anything to do with it, other than development.Marco moved to a place better suited to his talents. It was a good move for both parties.
The miss is yet again on the coaches evaluating him.
The failing upward of Brian under Kirk is less surprising than that of Budmayr. How does someone who is not family continue to have miss after miss and yet is not only still employed here but gets promoted!?
So he only failed at development on this one, not up front recruitment evaluation. Fair enough.Lainez was on O'keefe, I don't think Budmayr had anything to do with it, other than development.
Honestly, I didn't think it would get worse than Copeland, but it certainly has.So he only failed at development on this one, not up front recruitment evaluation. Fair enough.
Point still stands.
He has three years of eligibility remaining, so a transfer to FCS Elon, with a chance to actually see the field, is probably a smart move fire him.
I knew he was a problem as soon as he came from Wisconsin.Marco moved to a place better suited to his talents. It was a good move for both parties.

I agree. If he still holds out any hope of playing at the next level, or even P4, the only chance he has is to go somewhere where he can play and then potentially hit the portal at a later date.He has three years of eligibility remaining, so a transfer to FCS Elon, with a chance to actually see the field, is probably a smart move fire him.
no you wouldn't. it's been known for a couple of years he wasnt a P5 QB. not even close.shit sucks, would have absolutely preferred to have Marco back in the fold compared to Hank Brown.
not sure how anyone would know, his scramble ability was more than solid, and he looked to be developing in the spring games. Although arm strength on out throws did appear to lack a bit.no you wouldn't. it's been known for a couple of years he wasnt a P5 QB. not even close.
people know. They have contacts within the program. The beat writers were reporting last year that he would never play at Iowa barring a catastrophe. He did not have the talent to play at a major conference level. Confirmed by his landing spot.not sure how anyone would know, his scramble ability was more than solid, and he looked to be developing in the spring games. I don't trust anyone even with connections to make claims about QBs in this program. Kid was a RS freshman, and were it not for an injury he would have played this year.people know. This isn't a "didn't get the opportunity" thing. trust me. wish the kid luck and move on.
A beautiful school in North Carolina.Good luck Marco. Never heard of Elon. At least not the educational institution anyway….
Hes a wb whisperer but nobody's listeningMarco moved to a place better suited to his talents. It was a good move for both parties.

Billy Taylor is the head BB coach. He was an assistant at Iowa and left in 2022.A beautiful school in North Carolina.
I think that what it comes down to is that now he's at a level and program much closer to his current abilities (mediocre to lower level FCS).I don't trust anyone even with connections to make claims about QBs in this program. Kid was a RS freshman, and were it not for an injury he would have played this year.
The ultimate Ferentz stubborn stupidityShame he didn't play until the bowl game was out of reach during the Deacon era, but here we are. Best of luck wherever he lands.
So God forbid good coaching creates a play scheme that optimizes the players skill set vs trying to make a player fit the scheme when it’s obvious the two scenarios will not meld. If I’m a QB I’m terrified of a team and coach (Chicago bears come to mind) that cannot pivot to maximize my skills! Idiotic!!not sure how anyone would know, his scramble ability was more than solid, and he looked to be developing in the spring games. Although arm strength on out throws did appear to lack a bit.
