*****Mark Gronowski COMMITS to IOWA*****

In his SDSU career, Gronowski amassed 10,330 passing yards, 93 passing touchdowns, 1,767 rushing yards and 37 rushing scores.

Mark Gronowski could change Iowa's current, future QB trajectory

In the long-term picture, the pairing between Gronowski and the Hawkeyes could be a wonderful marriage for both. Iowa has desperately been searching for the type of playmaker under center that can ignite its offense and show that the Hawkeyes can be explosive in the passing game again.

If Gronowski is the one to provide that, NFL scouts are sure to take notice and his draft stock will soar accordingly.

For Iowa, if Gronowski morphs into a standout in 2025, that could get the dominoes toppling for Lester and the Hawkeye offense in a positive direction moving forward.

It would be a narrative-shifter and a great recruiting pitch for Iowa to sell to future signal-callers and offensive weapons both out of high school or the transfer portal.

Is more help on the way?

Iowa has been linked to former Chattanooga wide receiver Sam Phillips. The 5-foot-9, 185 pound receiver visited Iowa and is choosing between the Hawkeyes, Virginia Tech and Memphis.

Could Phillips also wind up picking Iowa now that Gronowski has made his decision? Iowa has a stronger pitch to sell now and hopefully that will net some other results.

If not Phillips, then maybe there are other skill position options that will pop up onto the Hawkeyes’ radar now that Gronowski has pledged to the black and gold.

Mechanics, pocket awareness, footwork, leadership, guts, proven winner...check 'em all MG! Haven't seen glimpses of this QB skillset since CJB. Look at the ball placement too and I realize it is FCS D but still...tape don't lie and he's a much diff QB than Stanley..pure RPO which Lester will love.

Agree with all of this. Could be a huge momentum shifter for the program in terms of changing the narrative for future potential QB and WR recruits and transfers. Just need a wide receiver or 2 to complete the upgrade.

Who hopefully gives the say on offense over to Lester. Same with recruiting, the whiffs by Brian and Kirk have hamstrung us. Britt and Davidkov injuries are a reason too, but with better recruiting could have been survived.
KF has already given "the say" over to TL.

Yes, Lester will hone in on different recruits than BF did. In the end, who gets brought in or not is still on KF.

Overall, the QB room and coaching under BF probably could have been better, while at the same time suffered some bad luck.

The attrition to the O-line, besides, Britt and Davidkov, also included Miller, Fenske, Linderbaum, Ince, Jenkins, Proctor. And the overall attrition to this group would not be characterized as recruiting busts/misses. The one thing I would say is KF could have hit the portal a year earlier to have fortified the O-line
