*****Mark Gronowski COMMITS to IOWA but Needs Labrum Surgery. Won't begin on-field team workouts until June*****

My son had this surgery when he tore it wrestling.....early Jan surgery....back on the FB field full go for July/Aug practices. It was a pretty significant tear. The Doc that did the surgery actually had done the same thing for Ron Dane. (we lived in Wisconsin at the time). My concern is this is his throwing shoulder. Also I don't understand that KF was saying is was something he played with a bit during the year? Maybe it was not a bad tear because with a significant tear, the ball at the end of the earn into the socket is like a golf ball sitting on a flat tee...ie. it does not take much at all to have it pop out again as the labrum isn't there to keep it in socket. So hopefully it was just a slight/partial tear and the rehab will go pretty quick. Regardless it will be summer ball but SHOULD be full strength.

A bit of guesswork but the fact he played with it and played quite well would prob indicate at most a moderate tear and maybe a bit below that. The pods I listened too as well (Leg and Listeners) were the source and Doc had heard this too. Given that fact, a world class med facility and the PT and trainers available we should be in good shape for summer 7 v 7s and then fall camp IMO.

I’d say the fear we lost this kid in the portal process was palpable. Now that we have him we’re divided on the expected outcome. Hilarious! Lester is attracting more than we have and continues to overcome years of mismanagement. To think he can get the best of the best this soon is ridiculous. Progress! Let’s all agree this should be our expectation.
I just hope it's $1.3M well spent

I agree; I am glad the surgery is over and he's on campus working with the doctors & trainers.

He's now working with the coaches and his teammates, too (studying the playbook, looking at film, etc).

Just think, if he had transferred a couple of years ago, he only would have had to study the play-half-napkin.

Thank you. Thank you. You've been a great crowd. Ol' Doodle will be here all week. Two shows on Friday and Saturday. Don't forget to tip your waitress. Try the veal. Thanks for comin' out everybody. Get home safely. Goodnight!!

I don't eat veal. I have already established my preference for naming calves as pets vs eating them in another thread.

Knowing our luck... One of the following scenarios will happen

1. He will get injured 1st game of season
2. He will get hurt or re-tweak his shoulder... (to be less than 100%) mid season or earlier
3. He wont be ready or fully healed by 1st game

any word on how his rehab is doing?

I see that our resident clowns/trolls (Chishawk1425, Insanehawk & CubanB) have waddled over from the Off Topic board, bumping the duplicate Gronowski thread....

Crazy.

Fran, I am fan of your contributions to the board. You’re one of the better posters, but it really is weird that this bothers you so much.

Let it go, man.

I just find it interesting that 3 trolls have shown up in this forum, trying to pick a fight.

This is where I wish @Pinehawk would do something about these 3 clowns who are contributing nothing.

MG played with this for most of last year.
