Turns out most of the o-line is actually coming back for their extra year so that won't be quite the rebuild as anticipated. And they were significantly improved over 2023 IMO so hopefully they can keep that trend going.
What is he thinking? He'll just get Ferentzed like all previous Iowa qbs and ruin his career. Now we only need to recruit the rest of the offense.

Really love listening what he has to say about football, but also about his faith. Especially after his injury. This is the kind of guy I want to see leading the team and wearing the black and gold.

TBH, me too. As cynical as I am, I would be thrilled to win the natty next year, but I learned a long time ago to expect the Iowa football program to shit the field. So then whenever they do win a conference title, I would be pleasantly surprised. Oh wait...

Joey Throws is the one that I had some hope for too. Of everyone listed he looks like he’s the only one that turned out to be a decent G5-level QB. If the rumors about his attitude are accurate I wonder if he really has fallen short of his potential. I’m not going to pass judgement, though; having BF as my QB coach would make me want to smoke weed, too.

Time for a QB or two to transfer out and replace them with a receiver and OL. No reason to carry 6 QB's when you can pick one up in the portal every year with experience and a track record.

On paper the WR room does not excite me, but not having a very good QB for years now may have something to with that. It took Lester the entire season to figure out Wetjen needs to be on field, so it was nice seeing him get more snaps in the Bowl game. Gill had a big drop, but I am still high on him. Buie and Howard both showed flashes - so hopeful there. RVZ needs to hit the weight room, but he has height and may blossom into a solid go-to possession receiver (think a notch above Nico). No idea about Parker, but Lester was high on him. I wouldn't mind seeing Anderson get crean'd, I just have never seen much in him. Yes, I realize he has had a couple nice catches along the way - but more bad than good overall IMHO.

Lester said he wants six QBs in the room, so right now he'll have what he wants if Fitz's kid stays a QB and nobody does decide to transfer.
Right now he’s the default QB1 for ‘26 with 2 years of eligibility from there. Not sure he’ll find a better deal elsewhere. He had to know Lester was trying to get someone else.
