Went to Buffalo Wild Wings in Cedar Rapids this afternoon for lunch with one my co-workers and Marvin McNutt and his Wife came in and sat down at the bar, pretty cool seeing him, didn't know if he was a free agent or what. Great guy tho, got to shake his hand. No wonder why he caught so many one-handed catches MONSTER hands. Haha

Agreed. Since he was not a receiver until his third year of college, he had to learn the position in a very short window, so he should know the difficulties of the learning curve which could help make him a better teacher. The best players are often not the best teachers because the game came so easily to them. However, someone like McNutt (who did not possess a lifelong instinctual familiarity with the WR position) provides a unique perspective that is useful for teaching.

I don't recall McNutt spending two years at the QB position while at Iowa.

He redshirted in 2007 and was a backup QB in 2008. He didn't switch to WR full time until 2009, which was his third collegiate year.

Actually, I believe he switched full time to WR during his redshirt freshman year and even had his first reception that season.

I had seen that he recorded a reception that year, but was not familiar of the circumstances. Sports-Reference.com listed him as a QB for the 2008 season, but it seems as though he did switch halfway through the year.
