Matt Campbell blocks Iowa from getting QB Parks

Ya nice post. I doubt if Park would ever have transferred to Drake, but the Drake exclusion I suspect was to ensure he does not stay in Iowa and in the media spotlight in DSM, which could be a potential distraction to both Park and Iowa State next year. Really win/win, fresh start for Park, let him get on with his life and sort things out.
ISU prolly would've kept Park if it weren't for the bad pub. Clowns should be able to spin this as another scholly opened up for one more of their 890 annual offers to accept. All of this is just more evidence of the ineptitude of State's football operations.

So isu has a violence issue because isu students threatened the KU team bus and an isu donor went after Bill Self right? isu is racist as well since the isu student section hurled racial slurs at Iowa cheerleaders? I see where Iowa bad investigations of there incidents where is all the public investigations and repricutions of this behavior at isu? Would love the links on this especially the racial slurs and donor. Did he even lose his season tickets?

When repeated incidents of isu douchiness comes to light at some point it is simply a result of the culture at isu. How many incidents does that take before you will admit it agr?

And Iowa sweeps the rhabdo issue under the rug and still has the same guy running the weight training and conditioning program. Pot meet kettle....

Nothing was swept under the rug an investigation took place and since then Doyle was named S&C coach of the year.

Oh right that must be ignored because it doesn’t fit the isu “spin” of reality.

So where was the investigation of the violent isu donor and racist isu student section? Right, swept under the rug by isu.

Raise your hand if you saw that coming.

Its a standard form, listing the three other major universities in the state...but by all means, pretend like its an "Iowa" thing.

The Iowa thing is irrelevant. Stanley is in place and I doubt there's much of any interest from Parks's side on this either. I am surprised he named UNI & Drake. Adding Drake is stupid and punitive....I half get the UNI thing, but they're not even FBS. Campbell, if he's building what it might appear he's building, shouldn't be that concerned about Parks going to UNI.

Ya, isu handled this by the book, eveyone is saying so, except for a few partisan fans. no news here.

Btw, you do realize this will be parks 4th school in 5 years.

I do applaud your empathy though, some others on this board refer to him as a druggy, couldnt make 4th string at iowa, etc

Fresh start, best for all
And Kempt has been to how many schools?

If ISU truly sends out release letters with Drake being apart of that letter, than they are even dumber than I thought. So either their coach is a dick or their athletic department is run by morons. Probably a little of both.
The Drake issue is not normal. I don't care what Cryfans, Campbell or Pollard says. There is no reasonable excuse to put Drake in that letter. I'd love to hear whatever excuse they can scrape up, however. I like a good laugh.

What was swept under the rug? At no time did they try to keep it a secret. They were very proactive in changing training to prevent this in the future. But you're a bitter ISU fan so I'll take your post for what it's worth.

It's a dodge to shift the conversation from their coach and fans cannibalizing the QB they all loved after he had a bad game.

Preventing a player from transferring to any team on your schedule is a common sense practice I think most teams would employ. Don't you think?

I for one, think that transfers should be allowed to go anywhere they want without any restrictions as to where they can go. This has NOTHING to do with ISU. I don't care what school does it, it's wrong.

If they end up on your schedule as an opponent, oh well... that's the player's choice.

So now the excuse is keep him away from the program so Drake is too close but his kid lives in Ames. He definitely told the truth on the coaches and fans and he is being crushed for it. Can he go to Central? Or BV? Or Coe? Wtf. One word. Vindictive. If he beats Texas this never happens ever. Sad and sick.

Well ask the signatory of the letter, he's a hawk graduate.

I get Iowa (though I think it’s rather childish), but can they restrict UNI and Drake? They’re a different division. I guess I really don’t know because I’ve never actually seen anyone do it.

Matt Campbell has made ISU look like fools nationally!
Ya, this is only an issue for a few rival fans that are looking for something that isn't there. Everyone knows it, and this isn't even on their radar.

PS - This whole thread is a excellent example why it's best for him to transfer out of state and avoid the drama lol

Your head coach is immature, the chest bump and things like this show it. Brian Ferentz would also fall into this category.

Let's just all hope ISU's next QB doesn't throw multiple picks against a shitty Big 12 defense now that we've seen how Campbell reacts. Poor kid would probably be shot by firing squad or something.

Ya, something like that, you're probably right, lol

Or here is another explanation from Dec 12 article:
http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsport...-jacob-park-transferring-from-iowa-state-too/

He said the challenge of balancing school, football, fatherhood and living with the mother of his child became overwhelming. Park also said he failed a drug test because of marijuana usage and was facing a one-game suspension that was supposed to have been served against Oklahoma on Oct. 7.

Park said he talked to Iowa State’s staff about his marijuana usage. The night before the suspension was supposed to be served, Iowa State announced Park had taken an indefinite leave from the team to “work through some personal health issues.”

“It was not something that was very easy to deal with when you have so much high-pressure situations that you’re being put into as I do,” Park said Monday. “And it’s a coping mechanism that I understand now is not acceptable and that I’m still working on this to this day.

That list just cannot be real. Blocking Iowa makes sense but some of the others???? Although wasting a scholarship just to steal the Clowns playbook seems a bit steep of a price.

Yeah he also said this:

“As far as I’m concerned, I’m no longer on the team,” Park said. “I haven’t been communicated to by anyone on the team. I haven’t talked to coach Campbell since the second week I was gone. (I’m) just kind of now taking my own steps to make sure my future’s OK."

“Everybody says these fans are so loyal, right?” Park said. “Like, they were the first ones to turn on me.

"I got to witness this from a whole other perspective that most of you never get to witness.”

Damn dude. Nice culture.

Ya, he was frustrated the team was doing better without him, and all the things going on in his life. And now he's transferring to his 4th school in 5 years. Iowa State supported him the whole way.

This is what Park said on Nov 22:
Thank you for the continuous love and support from not only Cyclone Nation but most importantly my family and friends! Thanks for always sticking by me. Y’all are the best!

Yeah then weeks later after being completely kicked to the curb he apparently felt the need to come clean and make it known what really happened with his interview in the Register.

Just sad that your coach cut off communicating with him and the school left him on his own to figure things out once they realized they had a decent QB that they could rely on. Pretty toxic. But if you're ok with it that's your choice.

Unless you're saying the kid was lying when he said that the fans were the first ones to turn on him and that he was left on his own to "make sure my future's ok"? You calling him a liar?

Ya, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to a Big XII Coach of the year, over a 22 year old kid, that's been to 4 schools in 5 years, failed a drug test(i.e. pot), and frustrated over losing starting QB position. lol

He has a lot going on, wish him the best!

So you're calling him a liar? Wow. Just a few months ago he's the savior of ISU football and after throwing a few picks now he's a liar and a druggy. Klassy Kulture there in Ames. Hope this doesn't contribute to Campbell's regression in recruiting, that's already gotta be a concern. Word gets out that if you screw up the coach will shoulder check you, abandon you, and run you out of the state it could get worse.

This whole thread is an example of how cryclown fans “spin” reality. Hey Nellie Cy, did you ever find the results of isu’s Investigation into the violence threatened by your students or the isu donor who went after Bill Self? How about the isu investigation of the isu stufent section where they were hurling racial slurs at the Iowa cheerleaders? Do you have that one?

I guess the only AD in Iowa that sweeps things under the rug is the one in Ames. Or must we ignore all that?

Cryclown fans and their “spin” on reality is always entertaining.

Yea and what about the mezza fanuc who ripped off the stuff from our locker room in 2013? Total lack of institutional control in Lames. Go sit in time out lil bro. Park is better off without the abuse and mistreatment there.

The Hawks wouldn’t want a drug user on their team anyway. DJK is nothing but a distant memory

He was kicked off. But Campbell showed against kstate you are arrested and jailed within 48 hrs of a game you can still play.

I know lot being made of Drake but to restrict UNI is worse because that’s a realistic option. When you start restricting FCS school season that’s pretty weak since some kids may not want to sit out a year. Worst part is UNI isn’t even on the schedule for them next year.

Hey Nellie cy,

Did isu investigate the arrest, release and no suspension within 48 hours or is isu just sweeping things under the rug?

So like a noncompete agreement. Pretty standard in an employer employee relationship to protect the employers investment.

Oh wait

Ya, c'mon Herky lol

Ya this followed the university code of conduct, disciplined internally, and is old news, everyone agrees a minor issue, Spray painting under a bridge - 5th degree criminal mischief.

I'm sure you're actually more concerned about Brandon Snyder, DUI, potentially endangering himself and others. Everyone agrees this was a serious offense, extremely poor judgement and he should not play in the ice bowl. Everyone is still talking about it.

Yeah but the difference is when Snyder had a bad game Iowa's coaches and fans didn't turn on him and abuse him like a dried up porn star getting kicked out of an El Camino on a Sunday morning in a Denny's parking lot like Park was by ISU fans and coaches.

It's just you and a couple other stragglers that are hanging your hat on this fiction. Everyone knows it's a non-issue and is saying so. Time to move on down the road lol
