Media Reporting that Nebraska wants out of the BIG10

You have a point with Wisconsin. But losing to Iowa? We got the last game (thanks to turnovers, not performance) and Nebraska still holds the head to head edge since joining B1G. Iowa is about the fifth reason Nebraska would consider leaving – as painful as that is for me to say - reality is reality.
Those interceptions didn't catch themselves, Canzeri didn't magically float into the endzone twice.
Iowa is easily a number one reason as they provide too much competition recruiting and fan wise around the area. Nebraska hasn't had to put up with another money school being so close. Especially one that particularly hates Fuskers for the evil they commit upon the world.

Lol, sure. They're totally obsessed. Take a look at Huskerboard and all the angry threads trolling Iowa. Then look at all the threads even discussing leaving the B1G . If you follow it all the way down to page 4 you'll find one thread about the NDSU state game with 0 views. You should click on it. This thread is another example. Nebraska isn't going anywhere and with no evidence to the contrary, you fancy Iowa's program as some kind of epic foil. Please....

Yeah, because the moderators there aren't known for deleting most Iowa related threads. Don't sit here and act like the rules about 'trolling' is the same here as it is over there.

Hell, ahem, Nebraska is freezing over just this minute I've heard. I always thought that was funny when people say "When hell freezes over."

Hell freezes over multiple times throughout the year. As it should, because Nebraskans are better off in ice.

No, there really isn't much discussion of Iowa on that board. You won't see 15 posts by their regulars trolling Iowa fans, either as the game approaches.

That's because their mods delete the posts. They also immediately ban Iowa fans. Pretty much every Husker and his stupid step-brother has been over here at least a few times from that board. If they could keep the convo up without the Modzi's taking down the threads, then they would.

Here's another media story you guys might be interested in.

A year ago, after (what was then) the ugliest and most painful loss of the 2015 season, I wrote this*. Rereading it brings back all of the struggles and difficulties Nebraska was facing a year ago: highly questionable play calling, horrible game and clock management, not utilizing talent correctly, abandoning the run, players with horrible attitudes, a secondary that couldn't cover their own shadow, fourth quarter collapses, and other things that you and I have still managed to repress.

*And given that I used a song title last year, I'll continue the theme this year with a horrible pun that I absolutely love.

A year later, the transition is dramatic. Danny Langsdorf called another strong game, playing to the strengths of his personnel. Clock management was not an issue. Nebraska is running the ball - and sticking with it. After what could have been a divisive week the team unity and focus seems to be strong. I thought the secondary played one of their worst games of the season on Saturday and they held Illinois to 14-23 for 146. The Illini had almost 100 more passing yards a year ago, despite ridiculously windy conditions. Finally, Nebraska's biggest transformation may be in how they are owning the fourth quarter.

And another one

Welcome, Husker Nation, to Prediction Thursday!

Now, you might be asking yourself what are we going to talk about today? There’s no Husker game to predict this weekend. There’s always something to predict on Prediction Thursday. This week during the bye week we’re going to have a little bit of fun. I’m going to give you my prediction for what I think Nebraska will be rated heading into their bowl game, which bowl game they’ll be going to, and who they’ll be facing in that bowl game.

Now I think Nebraska is going to end up 11-2 and I think they are going to end up right around that number 10 rank. I think they can be a Top Ten Team. So, I’m going to say they are number 10 at the end of the regular season. Now, I have Ohio State representing the Big Ten conference in the playoff, so the next highest rated team from the Big Ten goes to the Rose Bowl. I have that as Michigan, because I think they’ll only have one loss. So, that leaves the Orange Bowl, and the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl and the Outback Bowl as possibilities for Nebraska.

Now I think that Orange Bowl bid is going to come down to Nebraska and Wisconsin. Wisconsin is really good but they have a really tough schedule. So because of that I think they are gonna end up with three losses. Now Nebraska still has to play Indiana, who beat Michigan State; Wisconsin; Ohio State; Iowa at Iowa; and a possible Big Ten championship game. So I think they’re going to lose two of those games but win the rest. I’m not going to tell you which two games they’re going to lose. You need a reason to tune in each and every Prediction Thursday to see what I think is going to happen every Saturday!

Now, if you want a hint as to one of those two losses, check out my video from yesterday where I break down and give you my prediction for the College Football Playoff. But I think because of that, and our rich history with the Orange Bowl, the Orange Bowl is going to invite Nebraska down to play.

Now I think we’re going to end up playing — the way it’s set up, the Orange Bowl gets the next-best ACC team; and since Clemson is going to be in the College Football Playoff (seriously, check out that video), I think that next-best ACC team will be Louisville, who will be number 5 — I think — with just one loss and the probable Heisman trophy winner, and they will have just missed out on the College Football Playoff. So the Orange Bowl matchup will be number 10 Nebraska vs. number 5 Louisville per my predication. Now, as far as predicting the winner of that game, it’s truly hard to predict the winner to a game that may never happen; and if it does it’s three months from now. So I need more info before I make that prediction. If we do go to a different bowl game, that Citrus Bowl and that Outback Bowl are legit possibilities; and a team like Florida — I know, another Florida team in another Florida bowl game, right? — but a team like Florida is a very probable opponent. Now I’ve watched Florida a lot this year and they’re quite good but they’re just not the Florida teams of old. So if Nebraska were to play Florida on Saturday, I’d feel comfortable saying Nebraska is going to win that game. So if they play Florida in the bowl game, I would predict Nebraska would beat Florida. Now I want to hear your thoughts on my prediction and what your predictions are as well, so hit me up. Now just a heads up, there will be no Armchair Quarterback Sunday because there is no Husker game on Saturday. There will be a Blackshirt Monday, something very special. I’ll be releasing my personal Mt. Rushmore of defensive linemen who have ever played at the University of Nebraska. So check out that very special Blackshirt Monday. Until then, Go Big Red and always remember to Throw the Bones!

Yet another one

Nebraska has thrived in the fourth quarter this season. The Huskers lead their opponents 78-6 in the final quarter and have come back to win in the fourth quarter twice already this year against Illinois and Oregon.Against Oregon, Nebraska’s two-minute drill was put to test for the first time when the Huskers trailed in the final five minutes. The Huskers scored on a Tommy Armstrong rushing touchdown and went on to win.Riley credits Armstrong, Nebraska’s senior quarterback, for success in the two-minute drill, but said he’s getting plenty of help.“I think everybody’s doing better, everybody is more comfortable with it,” Riley said. The main thing, Riley said, is understanding the two-minute drill and recognizing that you don’t have to always throw the ball down the field.“You watch a lot of the stuff on TV on the NFL and those guys really utilize the backs well in the two-minute drill,” Riley said. “So making the throws or using the back or figuring out how to best move the ball.”The Huskers are moving the ball so well during the two-minute drill that they practiced Wednesday with a no-huddle offense. They did it in part because the defense sees so much of the no-huddle offense, but Riley said they also wanted to see how it would translate to the regular offense.“I think just getting a better of idea of taking what you can get and being methodical about it, it forces you to sometimes execute those simple things,” Riley said.

Hawktimusprime might be one of the saddest people in the world in real life, a true ****tard.

Yes...Please...let them go and let their program die with the Big 12. Take Rutgers and Maryland with them....

Won't happen, but a man can dream...

Holy shit that's the dumbest thing I've ever read. That's saying something when you consider this is a thread speculating about Nebraska wanting to go back to the Big12. Iowa provides very little competition in recruiting and even if they did it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference what conference they were in, nothing would change. Also, what the hell are you talking about with the competition for fans? Are the two schools trying to sway undecided sports fans to root for them?

speakin of money, when is herky gonna demo that cute little stadium and rebuild? i mean with the amount of coin that the big ten is bringin in now, couldn't ya'll do a bit better than a texas 6a high school facility like kinnick? tia

just tryin to help you herkies out with our rivalry fwiw more fun when kurt and the boys aren't circling the drain

Doesn't make sense. I never see these threads. Additionally, if that board was filled with the kind of trolls you say it is, then were are the threads calling out Iowa as crap by Husker fans? They just aren't there unless you're claiming that the mods won't allow posts that are pro-Nebraska but too anti-Iowa- which is ridiculous according to your claims about their behavior.

No, this board, while being the more interesting of the two, also has a minority special class of obsessed troll/fans that can't resist drawing fire by attacking Nebraska in general and contributing to the fracas.

You're an idiot. He's correct.

Well, I am for Nebraska staying right here, and bringing Oklahoma into the BIG, and into the West Division so they can resume their rivalry every year, and that would help balance out the east and west power wise.

Bring Kansas in too, ship Purdue East.

East
Indiana
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Penn State
Purdue
Rutgers

West
Illinois
Iowa
Kansas
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Oklahoma
Wisconsin

Basketball would be ridiculous. Football you have UM, MSU, OSU, PSU anchoring the East and IA, NEB, OU, WI anchoring the West.

Nebraska is already lining up to play Oklahoma in 20 and 21 and are not leaving the B1G. Are the Hawkeyes adding any marquee programs to their non-conference schedule? In all seriousness, they need to. Last time I checked it seems like they plan to hang on to UNI and ISU indefinitely. Pitt is a quality program and was a good win last year since they ended up at 6-2 in the ACC but someone like USC, Tennessee, Baylor, Texas, Ole Miss or, yes, Oklahoma, would be great.
