If it was just a bill to pay the fed workers with nothing about the wall, even if you know Trump will veto it or McConnell won't have the vote than you still vote for it and make them do those things.

While I fail to see why the Dems didn't vote for the bill and force the veto, this message could also be drawn from this. McConnell stops things from passing just by not allowing a vote.

IMO any bill or nomination that stands a chance of not being filibustered and passing should get a vote.
