The Iowa men have not been to the Elite 8 since 1987.
The Iowa women HAD not been in the Elite 8 since 1993.

That's a bit surprising, given Iowa's history.
I see that Megan was not unanimous AP First Team All American. That's a bit surprising, given Iowa's history.

Wow.
Do you know what the record for most field goals made in a single season is? Megan had over 400, all except one were two-pointers. Those other three shot a lot of three-pointers. That plus the difference in FT’s could put Megan higher in the all-time FG’s made list. Also, it would be interesting to compare the FGA’s and relative scoring efficiency.
Yet Mulkey said she hadn't even heard of her before this season. What a disrespectful, narcissistic ****.Leistikow: Her incredible career over, Megan Gustafson's Iowa legacy goes beyond numbers
Gustafson’s 412 field goals this season are a new NCAA record. Stanford’s Chiney Ogwumike in 2014 set the previous mark of 402. It took Ogwumike 669 attempts — 78 more than Gustafson needed. Gustafson's 412 crushed the Big Ten record of 341.
And...
What made Gustafson's epic career especially remarkable: She was never a shot-hunter. (By comparison, the four women ahead of her on the Big Ten career scoring list attempted an average of 2,404 shots; Gustafson took 1,730.)
Incredible!
In my [admittedly biased] opinion, Megan is one of the top five in the nation of all time. Not to mention, she has been the best player in the nation for the last two years.I see that Megan was not unanimous AP First Team All American.

as long as she gets her degree (i think she graduates in May), how do you not hang something from Carver's rafters or have a prominent display with her picture and all the accomplishments/stats?
Whoever wants the UConn girl to win all the National Player of the Year Awards must have left Megan off the ballot. Not only that, she wasn't the top vote getter either.
I can accept the argument for her not winning all POY awards (not easily accept it though), but what is anyone's argument for not voting her one of the top 5 players in the country? Insane.
yeah, some girl from small town Wisconsin who went to little old Iowa and who was not originally a 5 Star Recruit is not eligible for national awards! Ever!In my [admittedly biased] opinion, Megan is one of the top five in the nation of all time. Not to mention, she has been the best player in the nation for the last two years.
It appears to me that Baylor’s coach and perhaps certain players, is/are self centered, egotistical, and/or jealous.
My gosh, how do they not retire her jersey?Gustafson Wins 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award
“We are thrilled that Megan Gustafson has been selected as our winner for the 2018-19 season,” said Erik Miner, Executive Director of the Senior CLASS Award. “She’s had an incredible career on the court, and has been equally as impressive in the classroom and community, doing things with humility and integrity.
