If you would’ve told me at the beginning of the year that I was excited to watch Cobe vs Lewan I would’ve called you crazy, but now I’m pumped for that match. I think Cobe beats him!
While Will Lewan is typically like watching paint dry, he does have some good upper body stuff. It will be fun to see Cobe lock up with him and see how it plays out.
From a style perspective it should be very interesting. Cobe is much more offensive than Lewan, but Lewan’s defense and efficiency is A+. Lewan likes to stand around for 6 1/2 minutes and then win or lose in dramatic fashion at the end (shoulda been a Hawk). I hope Cobe pushes him early, sizable length advantage for Cobe.

Had very high hopes for Abe but the guy had had a terrible time being healthy at the end of the year.
19/20 True frosh he missed most of Feb after a fast start. Decent finish at BTT
21/22 Dinged up down the stretch. Poor BTT and NCAA
22/23 Good-ish start to season, top 10 ranking, then WI throw and we haven't seen him since. Will go into BTT with little, if any, mat time since Jan... if he can even go at BTT.
Feel bad for the guy but an AA finish seems unlikely at this point.
There have been approximately 37 finesilvers in college wrestling in last several years, many at duke.
The dual should be at Montini Catholic HS, with potentially 5 wrestlers from the HS competing. Pretty cool!
Don’t think his dad did, but he and his 3 brothers (2 sets of twins) did. And then there have been 33 others who have wrestled for other programs.
Almost as many as Jordan’s from Ohio. Grahams got more Jordan’s than a Footlocker
I’m picking Iowa to win 3 of 4 from this group with Cass being one of them and PK being another.
I am a big fan of Cass, but Parris has pretty much dominated him the past couple years. 2 pretty fast falls and an 11-5 decision. Even counting Steveson, Parris is probably the worst matchup for Big Ton’ in all of DI…
Most of our wrestlers seem to have trouble staying healthy most of the year.
I will disagree if he loses he is the 3 seed. But when he wins he will be the 2 seed. With Facundo beating Kharchla last week pretty much guarantees at least the 3 seed for PK!
Couldn’t agree more. Getting kinda tired of it to be honest. We almost need to ask ourselves if we are training to hard sometimes. Nobody has injury problems like we do. If the whole team was 100% as crazy as it sounds we would have a shot at Carl and his team. They seem to very beatable as of late.
I will be shocked to see Assad before Bigs and even that’s a stretch right now.
If Assad doesn’t go in the next two duals, Iowa will only have one competition where the whole “starting” squad competed together all season. The dual against Nebraska.
I think it could look like Iowa 19 Michigan 15, with each team winning five, and the difference being bonus points from Spencer and Real.

Id be interested in a compelling argument with some data analysis going back 5 and 10 years. Until then not sure I trust your observation.
okiest is comparable. Especially at NCAAs. And yes, we go way too hard, too often.
My friend was with me at the Michigan match and he described Lewan as a defensive wrestler. Your description is more accurate I think lol.
