Michigan State fans are melting down

I respected Izzo in the past but lost that respect with the way his teams play (physicality) over the last few years. And, the constant whining at the refs is way too much.

Not sure what is going on with Izzo/MSU. I have watched all their games (I watch all BIG games) and get the sense that the MSU players are tired and losing interest/intensity/mojo recently (but this is not a very good shooting team). Just like last night after Iowa squelched the MSU second half rally you could tell the MSU players were beat. I think his antics eventually wear everybody out at some point.

IMO Izzo is possibly on a downhill slide as players expectations today have changed and watch teams/coaches on TV too. Next year will be very telling about the MSU BBall program under Izzo/future. Maybe he is just mentally and emotionally tired? Not to mention the transfer portal has brought another huge challenge to roster management. He has obviously expended a great deal of passion, emotion, and time in the MSU program. Time will tell in the not-too-distant future whether Izzo is up to the challenges.

I find it easy to strongly dislike Izzo for the way he coaches thug defense and gets away with it. It's easy to be gracious when you win most of the time. But I will give him credit for saying good things about Iowa after last night's domination by the Hawkeyes.

Things I like about Izzo:

1. He wins a lot.
2. His kids play hard for him, and I believe he cares about his kids.
3. He shows good sportsmanship, and generally handles losing with class.
4. He cares about his school and represents it well most of the time.

I don't like he constant badgering of officials . That gets old.

MSU fans are spoiled beyond belief.

If you don't lke Izzo badgering, then you are forgetting the true Badger was Bo Ryan

Izzo is nothing but a little bitch. Remember when he said Todd Lickliter is a great coach and Iowa was stupid to fire him? He thinks he is bigger than the game, but the only thing bigger than the little bitch Izzo is his ego.
Coaches are a fraternity. They usually don't speak ill of one another...

Izzo is cut from the Knight, Heathcoat, Henson, Keady, Motta mold. Pizz and moan the whole game but tell it like it is when the game's over...

Michigan St. just doesn't seem to have the strong forward star that usually decimates us inside or the scoring PG that lights us up. That's fine with me. This game was our third win in a row over sparty.

That second poster used the F-word more than Al Pacino in "Scarface".

True but that is one of the weakest MSU efforts we've seen in quite a long time, probably since the Lickliter-boner game. Our defense still remains average-at-best on a good day, and they couldn't get anything going at all.
Is that the game where the legendary Lil' Lick Swat pic comes from?

We are talking about Todd Lickliter. The only reason Izzo said that was because he knew it was a guaranteed W every time he would play Iowa. Doesn't want to see another team get better. I've said it from day 1, Tom Izzo is nothing but a little bitch.

I think it's Purdue but I don't want to see it again. Izzo's team got beat by Lick maybe in Lick's last season. Still recruits at a very high level and I don't think we've seen the last of a good MSU team or of Izzo.

he should have been gone a long time ago with the player/women scandals and when Nassar was fresh on everyone's mind. Seems he got away with backing his players quite a bit--when it happened to Alford/Pierce it was the end of the road. no coming back for lil stevie....

I don't think this is really true. The first Pierce fiasco was something like 2002, and the second offense that got him permanently dismissed was 2005. Alford was here through 2007, and even then, he was not fired. He left to take the NM job.

The PP deal cost Alf a lot of support, yes, but he was not "gone" until he left voluntarily.

From where they have been under Izzo to getting beat down by 26 points to a team that was below them in the standings before last night, you can see where they are coming from. No, Iowa is not Nebraska. But neither is Iowa Purdue.

Izzo appears to have lost a bit off his fastball. With what he's done, he will be able to go out when he wants to. But great job by Iowa of not letting up on them last night.
I frankly just don't see much difference between Iowa and Purdue. Iowa played them close (at Mackey) without Keegan, and they've had a few stinkers as well. Yes they've got the beef, but they don't have anyone to stop Keegan either. Wouldn't mind another shot at them for the BIG championship.

MSU is a shadow of their former selves. No star power for sure - but little energy or enthusiasm. They seem to be going though the motions.

When you go to MSU to play, you absolutely expect to compete for the B1G and go deep in the tourney. When you don't, I can see where it would be easy to be let down - both players and coaches.

But, I say, "Welcome to the rest of us MSU"

he left because the writing was on the wall, after the first PP it the general mood was set, to say he left on his own is not a true statement in my book. Hell people around town were tired of him bartering his NIL for things they sold--meaning house remodels et such.
Him leaving was a get out of dodge move, hell why would he take a step backwards if there was not something else driving it?

Not to sure about the NO star power thing. The fact is they just aren't producing during this current streak. Look back at the early season wins and #10 ranking. They have players. Key players on the current roster. Christie: 5 Star. Ranked #2 SG and top 10 player in the nation leaving high school. Hall 4 Star #10 ranked PF nationally. Brooks 4 Star #11 SF nationally. Hoggard 4 Star #11 CG. Sissoko 4 Star #9 C. nationally. Akin 4 Star #9 PG nationally. Marble 3 Star #44 PF nationally. Hauser 4 Star who Iowa recruited heavily twice. Once when he graduated high school and when he transferred. Does that look like Iowa's roster? The issue in East Lansing is not talent.....

True, but even Izzo admitted we already played tougher part of schedule (so evens things out)

Izzo has NINE top 100 recruits on his roster....NINE! Iowa has 1, Patrick McCaffery.
Exactly! Don't tell me Fran is not a helluva good coach! Sometimes 4 and 5 star talent cannot play team ball. You need players who understand and play their roles. In my view, this is Izzo's problem. Also he has always had an elite point guard that was tough as nails and a coach on the floor; a pg who could get you a bucket when you needed one. He doesn't have that now. I don't know why he is not getting more out of Bingham. He is an elite shotblocker but seems to just disappear all the time.

Izzo said he would probably be making some changes. He clearly knows some of his plans for this team have not worked out. I expect to see a new and improved MSU from here on out and I bet they finish strong. He has shown to be pretty good at figuring things out.

Hauser is a tweener.....not tall enough inside, too slow outside. Just as well he went to Marquette and then MSU.

Okay, and the rest of their roster? No star power? As for Hauser he's a good complimentary player. He shouldn't need to be a star on that team........
