Michigan State - Texas Tech

Ward looked like Shaq vs Iowa.

This whole tournament he looks terrible.

Tech is tough defensively. Move their feet well and anticipate well but when the ball goes inside they slap away like crazy. So far they are getting away with it. State looks terrible on offense. Too much standing around. They need to push the pace and prevent Tech from setting up defensively. Maybe run a spread for drive and kick

They're doubles are fantastic, coming from the right place and time. MSu bigs cant see the guy they're leaving open.

The shot blocker is a fraction of why they're great on defense.

It's actually a huge factor. MSU's posts won't challenge him.

He has 3 blocks already and forced a number of bad shots with his length.

MSU has needed Mcquaid and Winston carry them.

If you don't think the TTU athleticism difference is the primary factor then you aren't watching. Beard couldn't make Iowa's lineup defend like this.

Fraction.

Would make little difference if he could jump or not. Its icing on the cake.

It's all about their ability to double and pressure the ball.

Msu bigs aren't even turning to look at the basket on the majority of their touches. If they even get a touch.

Theres no lanes to pass or drive.

Obviously the kid is talented so I’m not knocking his play in any way, but don’t you think Owens could have added a little more to his frame in 5 years of college ball? He is THIN!!

Tech is doing to MSU what MSU has done to so many for years. Playing smothering defense and the refs are letting them play.
Spot on, easy to play unbelievable d when you can foul three times in one d possession and never get called for it. Lol

Perfect example right there. No shot blocker in the game.

Ward is doubled so well, he cant dribble and never even turns to see the basket. Almost throws it out of bounds.

By the time the time the ball gets to Mcquaid TT has everyone covered.

Tech has 13 fouls, they should have 26. Little Karma for state I guess.
