I didn't know NW had a coach.
Interim, I'm sure. They mentioned a guy during the match, but can't remember who. I'm guessing the NW coaches were a little bitter that BS basically took one real shot the entire match and converted with it. Or... made a comment that it won't happen again.

Plenty of examples of guys who have came back and done well at midlands after their collegiate career was over. Plenty examples of guys whom have come back and done not as well at Midlands after their collegiate career. Very few examples of guys whom have come back after that long of lay-off and completely laid waste to the field the way Andrew Long did.
Andrew Long faced one seeded wrestler the entire tournament, and that was #7 freshman Bliese from Northern Illinois in the Finals. I have a feeling Matt McDonough, Brent Metcalf, Jordan Oliver, etc., would have done similar things under similar circumstances. But that's just my opinion, so.

For the sake of accuracy, Storniolo was never a NCAA Champ. He may have won a national title of some sort in High School(not that I am aware of). Still he was a very successful wrestler in College. Made R12 as a freshman for PSU, then transferred to Oklahoma taking 7th and 4th before going 2-2 as a Senior.

My mistake you're right

I don't necessarily disagree. I know that he faced tougher competition but I also thought DT would lay waist to the field and he had a competitive match with Brooks and a close match with Dudley.

I thought Taylor may as well, but he is in a whole new territory weight wise, and some of the advantages he had previously, he doesn't have right now. Perhaps later, but not yet.

At 165 in this tournament, Taylor does what he always does to collegiate wrestlers not named Dake. I think that's a given.
