Myself and a very dear friend of mine were biking down the Mississippi river from Marquette to Dubuque last fall and dropped acid part way through the ride. We started tripping really nicely around Guttenberg, and took a stop at the fish shack to relax and rejuvenate while watching the eagles circle over the river. Lots of pretty intense climbs had occurred over the previous stretch, so we were pretty beat, but certainly not broken.

After a little break, we started off south again to resume our journey. At this point we were both peaking pretty hard, and a steep climb right out of Guttenberg was a little rough. As we neared the top of the climb, we saw that there was a pull off for a scenic overlook in sight. At this point, the sun was setting over the river, and we were both feeling the need for another break. As we approached the overlook, this song started playing on the Bluetooth speaker attached to the back of my friend's bike; we rolled in to the scenic overlook spot, and we both just sat there in silence for several minutes as the natural splendor overtook us. It seemed as if the perfect song had came on at the perfect time, and I was able to enjoy it with one of my best friends in the world, swept away by what I can only describe as an overwhelming sense of contentment.

When I first heard Led Zeppelin!

I had a special Zepplin moment similar to the above once while visiting a friend in Ithaca New York. We had a cottage on one of the finger lakes and we were on the dock relaxing during sunset when this song came on; very similar to the experience above, as we all just sat in silent contentment listening and soaking in the splendor.

Attended this show. Again, was tripping on acid... (I know).

This song came on after the transition from Drums & Space. I remember that I was talking to some random guy next to me, and we were basically speaking in strange etherealian-acid tongues at this point, however I remember him at one point mumbling "I think we're going to the bucket buddy" moments before they started up on this song. And then it started; one of the few times I think I completely lost myself at a concert.

"I may be going to hell in a bucket baby, but at least I'm enjoying the ride"

I remember this like it was yesterday....

I was 14 years old. My evil stepmother engaged me to do some painting at the crappy day care center she owned.

It was winter, and very cold and dreary that day, especially for Jacksonville, Florida.

While I was scraping old paint off the window sills for slave wages, the radio was playing and a new song I'd never heard before came on. Blew me away!

To this day, I associate this song with cloudy, cold, depressing weather. It will always be a winter song to me.

That's a great song.

Right after the George Floyd incident, when the protests and general unrest was starting, I went to the basement to jump on the treadmill and clear my head. “We Americans” by The Avett Brothers came up on my playlist and I teared up a bit as the lyrics just really seemed to resonate at that moment in time.

A lot of Aphex Twin, Authechre, and Boards of Canada have done it to me as well. You will never convince me that Stone in Focus is not the greatest ambient track ever made, and this video featuring that track is my favorite to date:

You have to keep in mind I’m an old dude, Did some blotter and listened to Dark side of the Moon, The song Time actually had me pondering life and the passage of time at 15 years old.
Star Trek Acid Party brings it all together... Floyd, Aphex, Autechre, Boards of Canada... their all there

During Ragbrai a couple of years ago I accidentally left my backpack at a stop on the run. We didn't realize until we had reached out next destination stop, and I ended up having to go back alone to get it by myself, about 3-4 miles. Night had fallen at this point. There was a party going on at the spot I left it, so no big deal... but then I remembered I had a bag of mushrooms in said backpack. And now it was dark, moonlight, so I was going to need to trek back to the rendezvous alone. I decided to eat a copious amount of the mushrooms, and see if I would be abducted by aliens on my trek back in the moonlight. So I did that, and played the album Amber by Autechre on my way.

Needless to say, I was not obliged by any alien abductors, despite my efforts.

There's an awesome LZ tribute band called "Zoso."

I see them live once a year. Highly recommended.

They're the 2nd best band of all time! :)

I wanna party with you man, but alas those days have fled.
