Big three-way trade tonight.
Indiana sends NaLyssa Smith and the 8th pick in the upcoming draft to Dallas. Dallas sends All-Star small forward Satou Sabally to Phoenix, and Phoenix sends shooting guard Sophie Cunningham and the 19th pick in the upcoming draft to Indiana.

I’m confiicted on this trade. Smith had to go. That was a good thing. But I don’t know about adding Sophie Cunningham. A lot of people on social media are referring to her as MAGA Barbie. She apparently gave a shoutout to Nick Bosa when he landed in hot water for wearing a MAGA hat during a postgame interview.
I’m not sure what she brings on the court that Lexie Hull doesn’t already provide. And the potential for racial/political division just seems like too much of a risk.
She is kind of hot, though. But also something of an attention whore. Not sure that’s a good thing for the Fever. Most of the Fever players seemed to be having a lot of fun down the stretch last season, mostly because they were playing for each other and no one was being an attention whore.

I had similar thoughts. Do we need two Hulls? Is she divisive? But then I thought there is NO way the fever do any of these deals without clearing when Caitlin first. I hope you’re right. This is the second offseason move that left me puzzled. I thought they should have protected Temi and let Golden State take Smith. Then they would still have Temi and the #8 pick in the draft instead of MAGA Barbie and no first round pick.
