More ISU departures?

Well it's back to the 7-11 for Dresser. 
Almost as pathetic as being on a team you hates page at 1:19am. Lurking to troll, how lonely are you?
The fact that two more starters are leaving is not a good look... anyway you spin it. Personally, I don't think the exodus is finished yet. Clone fans will spin this as "not buying into the culture". Two more guys leaving with eligibility remaining is a huge red flag, by anyone's standard.
And most alarming to their fans... there are no proven backups at either weight. As difficult as it may be to believe.. they could be even worse next year than they were this season.
The biggest question to me is if Dresser can sell adding another 2-3 years to the projected rebuild?
To update... MitchL has dropped ISU to sixth in the rankings of the college programs in the State of Iowa. It looks like catching GV and Wartburg is a pipe dream.

I like Dresser. Hope he does well. ISU needed to keep Cael and David Taylor. Anyone know who else left when Taylor left? Taylor probably gets them top ten by himself.
Pollard is the one that effed that up. Hence... the reason ISU overpaid to get Dresser this time. VT wanted to get Robie to lead the program out East. It was the perfect storm that ISU offered when he was getting pushed out.
Not even close! Vega, Marmasomething, Storr, Nolting, Harrington, Dante, Simmons, Brietenbach, and I'll bet I missed some. Hell... pretty soon they can travel to away events in a minivan.

Gotcha. I was going with the CrushedDreams theme. Gave you a technical job but one that hinted at desperation and living in Mom's basement. At least it wasn't swapping out the sheets!

Kidding aside, I don't see this exodus as a bad thing. It's really hard to wrap your head around how bad KJ's ISU was, and the amount of change that needed to happen. Only time will tell.
my thoughts as well. It can take time to get the kids someone else recruited to believe in the new program. Those who don't are shown the door.
I don't have any "behind the scenes" insights on what is happening in Ames and while I always want the Hawks to whip the Cyclones...I also do not want to see a Cyclone wrestling program so down as to invite consideration towards dropping the program. We need as many strong D1 programs as possible in this day and age of Title IX evaluations.
The conference that ISU is in for wrestling is already WAY DOWN from the old Big 8/12 days, the program is well off of their glory days...I think we want them to come up and be re-strengthened. As such, I will not celebrate their misfortunes, I will hope for a better day ahead for them.

It's a shame Dresser couldn't have brought his top4 recruits with him to Ames, could you imagine the uproar...lol
He's probably trying to clear all the $$ he can to go after 1 or 2 BIG FISH - then 2 years from now when he qualifies 2 wrestlers instead of 1 he can justify to the Cyclone faithful that he is showing steady progress...

Do you have any idea what you’re talking about? Brietenbach was not the starter this year. He was behind several bad wrestlers (St John, Jennings). Simmons was going to be a back up for the rest of his career. He was the serviceable backup this year. There is a proven blue chipper at this weight next year.
Let South Dakota state keep pounding them.

Reading comprehension issues? I said ISU loses two starters with eligibility remaining... Simmons and Harrington. At 133, you don't have a PROVEN blue chipper. You have a guy that has concussion issues and what signature wins as a redshirt? That's one hell of a long way from a proven backup. You hope he's an improvement, but every damn ISU fan said the same thing about Storr last season. 133 is loaded for next season. He's not AAing.
